I posted last week about my husband’s diarrhoea well when we saw the doc it had calmed down a bit and he said he could prescribe Imodium but was concerned that he then became constipated which was worse for him. Well it ramped up again he has been in tears with the pain he has haemorrhage as well so you can imagine, sorry tmi.

I got some Imodium for him him from the chemist but does this happen is it yet another horrid symptom of liver disease.

I am taking to doc tomorrow for his flu jab and he says he will ask to speak to the doc while he is there.

I don’t know what else I can do for him

Sorry to read your husband is still having problems.

Hopefully the GP can medically examine him tomorrow, it is important to fully inform them of his liver diagnosis and the pain he is experiencing.

You could also see if the GP can get you another appointment with the liver specialist to discuss matters further?

Warm wishes

We are seeing the gastro consultant next week. The gp is fully aware of his diagnosis what is so frustrating that no one joins up the dots and I am left fighting for help.

It must be very frustrating. Hopefully the consultant can help next week too.

How frustrating for you. You must be so tired and worried. When you both see consultant next week don't leave the room until he helps you, try and do the same at the Drs. I know this is hard. I'm here if you need me. You can pm if you way. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Hi, my partner also gets a seriously upset tummy fairly frequently. He takes Imodium melt to stop any explosive diarrhoea plus lots of water to stop dehydration. Dehydration can be dangerous. Then if he becomes constipated, which is rare, then he takes lactulose.

Thanks, it seems that the first dose of Imodium has done the trick he is supposed to take lactulose two/three times a day anyway but these last few days too nervous to take it in case things got worse no idea how they could be worse. Luckily he doesn’t appear to have got dehydrated. Thanks for the info it helps to know he is the only one x
