Trabeculectomy
I’ve read numerous posts from people who have had eye surgery and in particular trabeculectomy surgery who have experienced so many post operative complications and also needing further surgery. My glaucoma consultant has advised me to have surgery but I’m undecided? Has anyone had a successful outcome

Dry eye
So, I have been walking 6 miles a day 6 to 7 times per week. Now that it's cold I still walk. My right eye is bothering me. It feels like there is a coating over it. I went to my eye dr. He said it looks like and sounds like dry eye due to the weather. Cold and windy. He gave me eye drops. He checked

Why in Dutch guideline for PA and B12 deficiency emphasis is just on IM injection and SC injection not mentioned?
I'm wondering why in dutch guideline for PA and B12 deficiency there is no SC injection. Is there any difference between IM injection and SC injection results? Why frequency of injection is different than NGS NICE guideline? In my experience more retention of B12 is the only key factor in symptoms improvement

Treating autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA)
Does anyone have autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) along with your chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). I believe it occurs for around 10% of CLL patients. Any experience or knowledge about it would help. My Haptoglobin has gone from 39 in September to 14 this past week. As I understand it, when it

Medication mixes
My 9 yr old son has been on the highest dose of Desmopressin for a year, and movicol and docusate sodium. We recently changed to both Pico sulfate, and Laxido, and he is now wetting almost every night. Does anyone know if it will be the new medication conflicting with the Desmo melts? Many thanks.

Treatment options
Hello all, I have some questions regarding treatment, just wondered if anyone can help. 1. Has anyone (in the UK) managed to get medication other than SSRI plus antipsychotic? Either NHS or private? If so, how? 2. Has anyone tried multiple SSRIs with little to no success, then tried another that does

Support for blind elderly
I have several risk factors for glaucoma and my question is: if I go completely blind in later life, would I get any help and support? I have no family, and am terrified at the prospect of being dumped at home with noone at all coming in, basically left to starve to death. I don't want to sound melodramatic

My partner's story
Hello to everyone, I've been a silent member of this group for a few weeks and I have found your posts really helpful. I have decided that now is the time to share with you the story so far with my partner and his diagnosis of alcohol related liver disease. He's 43 years old and he's been a daily drinker

FUNDUS FLUFLUORESCEIN ANGIOGRAPHY USING DYE
I am CKD stage 3 with creatinine 1.6. I have been diagnosed with Macular degeneration and the Retina doctor wants me to undergo a OCT+ICG+SPECTRALIS+FFA + OPDOS FUNDUS to decide the course of treatment. My concern is that since they are using dye injection for the Fundus Fluorescein Angiography

Fixing the Microbiome - Fighting Pathogens?
I do a lot of things to help my brain and clean up a-synuclein in the gut (and hopefully the brain), but it seems to me that no protocol is complete unless it addresses normalizing the microbiome, and assuming that if there is some pathogen in the microbiome that started this cascade, addressing that

Actinium/Keytruda/Xtandi trial update after 24 weeks.
At the 24 week mark of my trial at Weill Cornell, I had updated NM whole body bone scan and CTs of chest/abdomen/pelvis. Also had updated blood work. Was expecting my next 6 week infusion of Keytruda the next day. While waiting in the treatment area, there was some kind of a delay. Nurse came over
