Alcohol - I Did a Silly Thing
Yesterday to celebrate my daughters 50th birthday, my son in law chartered a beautiful boat for the afternoon - 3hrs. It was wonderful and from the time we left the harbour the four of us were plied with nice things to eat and wine. Now I'd already had a drink before boarding the boat and my wine consumption

Newly diagnosed; so scared, confused, and depressed
Hello. I'm so glad to have found this supportive and helpful community! I apologize for the long post. I first noticed when I received routine bloodwork results a year ago that my eGFR was flagged as low at 80. Since I didn't know what an eGFR was, I started researching and was alarmed to read that

Questions about TSH and other test results
In the spring of 2021 I had been having periods of fatigue that would put me in bed for two or three days at a time, and then suddenly things would be better again. This was a repeating pattern. I took this complaint to the doctor and was diagnosed with B12 deficiency. I was initially put on the treatment

What diet to follow?
My 66 y.o. husband has a Gfr of 53 and 15 to 30 protein in urine. He was first diagnosed 19 months ago and Gfr has changed very little. His PCP tells him to drink more water, lower sodium intake and get tested annually. He went to a Nephrologist that told him to drink less water (no more than 50 oz

How much Gaviscon to take?
Having endured angina type symptoms for more than a year, yesterday I tried Gaviscon for the first time at the suggestion of my GP. I immediately feel a lot better. So now I want to ask everybody about taking Gaviscon. Is it OK to continue taking it indefinitely every day ? The instructions say 10

Low sodium levels and Indapamide
Hi, I was taking Indapamide for 4 weeks and my BP was great, however my GP has taken me off them as he said my sodium levels are too low, now I'm on Doxazosin and my BP is right back up and I feel rubbish. Anyone else suffer from low sodium levels and if so is there anything you can take to increase

Alpro Almond Milk..... why do they do this? Any chemists have words of advice?
I stopped having cow's milk sometime ago and have been very happy using Alpro Almond milk instead. It contains Vitamins D2, E, B2 and B12 and calcium as shown in the photo. I noticed today that the packaging had changed and thought to myself "I wonder if anything else has?" So I checked. Yes indeed

night out flare up
sitting in a lovely hotel room with hubby, due to see a show in 3 hrs and having a bad flare up. Lots of trapped wind, pain and dashing to the loo. Taken an Imodium but feel washed out now. Supposed to be having a nice meal before show, but now scared to eat, and not sure if I can make show either😭.

Imodium
Hello, does anyone find it helpful to take Imodium to prevent diarrhoea if going out? Or would you recommend taking anything else as a preventative?

December and flare ups
I have suffered with chronic IBS D for over twenty years and I always seem to get worse this time of year, but I have no idea why! I have tried many different anti depressants to try to alleviate the problem, and I am currently on citalopram which doesn’t seem to do anything. I am resorting to taking

Covid question
I’ve avoided Covid up until now. My partner and I picked it up in Cuba. Started with what we thought was food poisoning, the dreaded diarrhea. It’s now been 14 days. We’ve had chills, fevers, fatigue and daily diarrhea. I’m at the final three months of V treatment so was advised to start the antiviral
