Roche’s GA101 Met Goals in Stage One of Trial to Replace Rituxan
'GA101 combined with chemotherapy helped CLL patients live longer without their disease progressing than chemotherapy alone, the Basel, Switzerland-based drugmaker said in an e- mailed statement today. The medicine is a partnership with U.S. biotechnology company Biogen Idec Inc. Still to come

Guess who is hogging the health spa...........
After being forced into some amazing antics over the weekend by Kaz, Gins, Libby, Sandra to name but a few I noticed pink pig (PP) was mysteriously quiet .... Thinking she might have had a relapse like Mofffy I decided to book myself in today to a local health spa for some lovely pampering and relaxation

Had Fludarabine? You can only have irradiated blood...for life.
This is a repost...for some reason the messages isn't getting through... It simply amazes me how many fludarabine treated CLL patients are not aware of this fact... it also apples to Cladrabine and pentostatin all purine analogs in fact. Also a good idea for bendamustine and campath...

How safe are your medical records?
With our ever increasingly networked world, where prompt access to our medical conditions could be a matter of life and death when emergency intervention is needed, there is the associated downside of unauthorised access to medical computer systems and devices - including implanted devices like defibrillators

Reflections on my New Year's Eve, 2012
I spent the News Year's Eve with a friend, watching Canadian comedies on television and raising our endorphin levels... while sipping a small glass of Cointreau... New Year's Eve TV comedy is a Canadian tradition, and none better than a long time group, known as the Air Farce

On a lighter note...........How did the tradition of putting a fairy on top of the Christmas tree start?
I so enjoyed reading pinkpig99's lovely poem yesterday (or was it the day before?... the days all run into one another!) that I was thinking about it, while I was lying in bed wide awake, and I was reminded of a joke I was told a few years ago. Now I must warn all of you that I was never very good

Genital dermatitis
Hi All, Over 2 years ago I had a bad bout of genital dermatitis which cleared up very quickly after using betnovate. I've been a bit stressed recently and it has come back. I've got a new tube of betnovate but it is not working as quickly as before. Has anyone had this and do you have any recommendations

How does this work?
This is a place where you can log things. You might be asking yourself, ‘What kind of things?’. Well, really anything relating to how lymphoma affects your life. So, you can write about anything from how lymphoma impacts your family life to the side effects of certain drugs to how it makes you feel

Any ladies had a TVT mesh sling fitted for stress incontinence?
Just wondering whether any ladies out there have had a mesh sling fitted as a bladder repair. I had my Johnson & Johnson's Gynecare Mesh fitted in 2003 and it was taken off the market this year. One of the safety concerns is that the chemicals in the material of the mesh might leach into the body and

From hospital bed to San Fransisco in 72 hours!
05 Oct 2012 The thing about recovering from a bowel transplant is the unpredictability; you are fine and then before you know it you are back in a hospital bed. I woke up feeling like I had the flu; you know that achy feeling, joints hurting and a bad headache. I never get headaches or at least I

He forgets and she reminds me
Bit of this Man in a bad mood hasn't brought the address or his phone and can only vaguely remember the instructions of how to get there. We start at the bottom of the dead end, where there is a young girl schooling a horse. And work our way up the lane. 2 men have no idea either but invite himself

My first attempt at baking gluten free bread in a machine - help needed pls!
I have been cooking gluten free, dairy free food for over a year now but never had the nerve to try and make my own bread. Until now. My mother in law has a bread machine and offered to lend it to me, as we have all had problems getting hold of the 'nice' Genius bread in the supermarkets of late. We

Extreme tiredness, low ferritin - both myself and daughter
Well I could not believe it when the hospital in London said that both of our levels are very low hence why I fall asleep so suddenly and my daughter saying how extremely tired she is put it down to A levels but they said low ferritin. Looking at our results it says about low Haemcrit, high red cell

GF DF Meatloaf recipe – cheap, quick to prepare and so easy!!!
A while ago, I posted a blog about revisiting some classic 1970’s recipes for some inspiration. http://feedingmyintolerantchild.com/2012/05/16/a-cook-back-in-time/ It was because I feel that home cooking was a lot more simple back then and a lot of the recipes in my Mum’s old cookbooks were real

Update on ice cream cones – very disappointed with Sainsbury’s
If you have been following my recent blog posts, you will know that I have been searching for the Barkat gluten free, dairy free ice cream cones. I approached the Barkat stand at the Allergy Show several weeks ago and they assured me they would be back on the shelves in Sainsbury’s very soon. I have
