Curious about Prednisone dosage.
Warriors If you do not mind telling me, I am curious about how many of you on Zytiga/Abiraterone take a 5 mg dosage of Prednisone , and how many take some other dosage level. I know most of your also getting Lupron injections and some are taking other medications along with the Zytiga/Abiraterone

Elevated Diastolic Blood Pressure & Thyroid?
I’ve read that thyroid issues can increase diastolic blood pressure while systolic remains normal. I’ve been seeing a slight increase / trend with this. Has anyone else seen this and it meant levothyroxine increase needed?

Feeling like Chemo is too Hard
Hi. I was diagnosed 3B HG in August 2018, had surgery, frontline, first recurrence ( carbo and caelyx/doxil), 3 years of Olaparib, one year on nothing and now am having carboplatin alone for second recurrence. My oncologist said this would be relatively easy. Also I haven’t had some of the worst complications

PALB2 Stage 4 A prostate cancer treatment plan.
My Partner has stage 4A prostate cancer spread to the nodules and has the PALB2 gene. How effective is internal and external radiation and ADT as the first line of treatment? Why can't the drs start with PARP inhibitors and chemo which is the standard of care as a second line treatment? Is it because

Still on hold for stem cell transplant
David has now completed 3 cycles of Vidaza. He had a bone marrow biopsy several weeks ago. At first we thought the results were good, that his cancer cells had been reduced sufficiently to proceed with transplant. After our local oncologist spoke to the transplant specialist at Mayo, we received word

HDR boost Brachytherapy + IMRT
Hi all, This is my first post since being diagnosed with g9 metastatic PC. PSMA PET showed several pelvic lymph nodes with Mets, but no other spread, and bones are clean. I’m trying to finalize my choice of radiation treatments. I’m currently on Lupron and Zytiga, and PSA is dropping like a rock

after EBRT …monitoring?
I’m up to fraction 20, today, 8 to go. (YAY!) I’m sure my RO will fill me in in upcoming appointments, but was wondering what I could expect in terms of monitoring results of my treatments afterwards. I’d imagine routine blood panels, monitoring PSA, but should I expect another PSMA PET scan at some

Myo-inositol increasing TSH?
Hello, wondering if anyone has experience of taking myo-inositol and any impact on their TSH please? I’ve been taking it for 4 months for PCOS, TSH was 1.1 just before I started and is now 4.8 (T3 and T4 within range). I read up on it before I started and the (limited) research indicated it could be

Ethanol Ablation
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced Ethanol Ablation on thyroid lobe? The last post I can find was 2yrs ago. I guess it must be more in use now. My husband was scheduled for right lobe removal operation next Thursday then received a letter from his Consultant yesterday saying that on checking

PSMA PET SCAN AND PSA
I had a disagreement with my RO today and wonder if he is right. My last PSMA PET Scan in Dec 2023 showed no progression. End January onwards I have an on off pain in the left ribcage area with an increasing frequency. To recap....PT3bN1Mx, RP in 2019, IMRT 2020 and on ADT for 30 months, currently completed

Uh... Oh... New Phase Awaits?
Dx 12/09, G4+3 Surgery 01/10 – Failed SRT 2nd quarter 2011 – Failed. Avodart worked for awhile. Eventually HT (Lupron + Casodex) in mid 2013. Worked great. Since then lengthy HT vacations 12/19/22-6/22/23 ---Orgovyx. Worked well so was able to stop...BUT NOW Starting to look like castrate resistance

Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I was treated with 6 rounds of docetaxel in 2017/2018 when I was HSPC and I responded exceptionally well. I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and Radium 223 (Xofigo). I just completed 7 rounds of docetaxel again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling. Now

PSMA Pet Scan results
My Dad has been on Abiraterone, Prednisone and Lupron for 2.5 years. He already had back in 2021 radiation to prostate, lymph nodes and 2 ribs. His PSA started going up and we just got the results from PSMA Pet Scan: “Highly PSMA positive tumor in the left prostate gland, increased in intensity and spatial

Prostate biopsy from rib ?
My dad , 83 , diagnosed with pc with mets to bones as per mri and psma. Not done biopsy yet as nervous to put dad through it and one oncologist said it’s not needed as the treatment would be ADT but then 3 other oncologists say it’s good to get it done as we would know what exactly we dealing with
