Hi. I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer a year ago. I had surgery and radiotherapy and was put on Letrozole. I have had a few problems with the Letrozole, which saw me come off it for a while. I was put back on it and the Oncology Nurse told me to take Evening Primrose oil.
it’s been 3 months now. I do feel a bit better. My knees are not hurting so much and I am more mobile.
My good news is that I have had my one year Mammogram and I am currently cancer free. I can’t explain how happy I am. I just feel lighter. Best wishes to you all. Thanks for your support. T xx

That’s great news!!! Interesting about the oil of evening primrose, I had issues for 6 months with Anastrozole, muscle pains , it has settled again , and hasn’t reoccurred thankfully . Take care 🤗
I had a similar history. I was taking evening prim oil for dry eyes and the optician asked me to check with the onco as he thought it might be contra-indicated. I stopped taking EPO but didn’t talk to onco about it.
The Letrozole caused a lot of extra pain and the onco switched me to a different but similar drug and again after a few years yet another. Eight years after starting the Letrozole I asked the onco if I could come off the drug regime entirely.
She explained to me that at my age, 75, there was no difference in length of life (between stopping after eight years compared to after ten), for women whose initial lump was under 5 cm. Mine, though, was nine cm and there are no statistics for that (huge) size.
I decided to prioritise well-being over length of life.
However, the aches and pains haven’t really diminished!
Anyway here I am nine years ahead of you and apart from the aches and pains I’m very well!!!
Good to hear, Happyrosie. I think I’m going to be okay for the whole 5 years. Anything that helps the cancer from reoccurring. All in all, I think I have been very lucky. xx
