Covid Jab Next Week
As I’m classed as extremely vulnerable I’m pleased that I’m getting my covid jab next Thursday. Not going out into public places unless absolutely necessary is very boring. Hope you all get your jabs soon. and none of us get bad side effects. Best regards, Jean x

Update on covid-19 treatments & eligibility
We've updated our article on the COVID-19 treatments and their eligibility, which you can read here: https://www.lupusuk.org.uk/covid-19-treatments/ Most of the updates to the eligibility are not lupus-specific (for example they have added some respiratory conditions), but they have added some co-morbidities

Starting over
Most of you know I haven't run much this year, also that I'm retiring, actually retired a little earlier than expected, then caught COVID. I worked right through the pandemic in a residential home, I stayed up all night caring for people with COVID, I worked extra hours when my coughing colleagues needed

Symbicort and sinusitis
My Symbicort has been raised to 200/6 from 100 but while this has improved my asthma I have terrible sinusitis and post nasal drip. I looked at the side effects and this is one. Wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Looking for hope
Our first ICSI round just failed and I’m feeling so dejected. This journey just seems to get harder. We have no frosties so back at square one. Can anyone share positive stories or coping strategies during the wait before the next round. I feel like I’m going loopy and can’t think about anything else

Rebound COVID after Plaxovid.
So I took a COVID test yesterday just for the heck of it since having COVID starting March 26 and was treated with Paxlovid. Well to my surprise it came back positive. I tested negative after 6 days on paxlovid. I have zero symptoms. I called my oncologist and he is pulling me off the Venclexta for 2

Asthma post COVID
I had asthma as a child and "grew out of it" - never needed an inhaler until 3 months ago. I was extremely active, an avid soccer player, hiking, biking, everything. I have been taking allergy shots all my life which helped make the asthma negligent. I got back to back colds in December-January, the

Another baby.
Hi all, I have my son who is 3 by ICSI treatment but I’d love another baby, only thing is we haven’t got £10,000 to spend! What do I do?! Also trying so hard to work out if it’s the best for us, what if it doesn’t work? I literally dream of having another baby it’s tearing me up 😞 not sure what I

BFN:gutted
Hi all, got my first BFN this morning, devastated. Im 39 and managed to get 5 eggs from 3 follicles, 1 got through to a 5 day blastocyst which resulted in a fresh transfer through ICSI. Hoped so much it worked as I have a blocked fallopian tube and a low AMH/reduced ovarian reserve but it wasn’t to

Referred for ICSI due to male factor infertility
Hello, I am new here and this is my first time writing on a forum. Myself and my partner have been referred for ICSI due to extremely low sperm count. We are both struggling with this realisation and I had expected we would be offered some treatment prior to ICSI but due to the severity of my partners

PSA and Covid
I’ve read a few times that PSA can become elevated for several months post Covid. Is this for real or just wishful thinking? Has anyone actually experienced this?

Stopping MTX as Covid positive
Flew to Finland and ended up feeling unwell after the flight, until finally testing Covid positive for the first time last Tuesday 4th April. That was my MTX day so I gave it a miss that day (I'm on 20mg injectable for psoriatic arthritis). So, still not feeling 100% but getting better each day. I've

?asthma
a few years ago after a bout of bronchitis which I often got in the winter I was given asthma pumps, I’ve never been sure if I had asthma. Following wheezing when I lay down or even in the day my doctor listened to my chest and sent me for a chest X-ray, this showed a shadow on my lung and I was sent

spring Covid vaccine
I’ve had all the necessary covid vaccinations but had my 2nd covid infection during the first week in March. I see in the news that the spring covid vaccine is available for those on steroids. I’m currently on 13mg of pred having started on 15mg in February. Is it likely that I will be asked to get

The nice side of Covid
“We will have a vaccine and it will be highly effective“ „It meant that things that might have unspooled over the next decade or even 15 years, were compressed down into a year or a year and a half“ (thx to Covid related research) We all need to contribute to survive the next 7-10 years by diet,

HU and prefibrotic myelofibrosis
Recently diagnosed first with ET. put on 500mg hydroxyurea daily with platelets at 617. After bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, diagnosis changed to prefibrotic myelofibrosis. HU had brought platelets down to 270 but I suffered from bad side effects. Dr didn’t want to change med or dosage. I resisted
