Woke up in pain
I'm glad I'm having the
sigmoidoscopy
next week, but worried it won't show anything, and they'll think I'm wasting their time. I've had the bleeding for at least a year, now.

Flexible sigmoidoscopy
Have any of you had a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
to check for Endo in your bowel? I have got to have this procedure and although I've read the booklet, I wondered what it is really like! Is this procedure good at detecting bowel Endo? Any advice on the bowel prep? Best wishes, Barbara x

I'm wondering whether anyone has suffered with the same problem as me? I have abdominal pain and constipation.
They have agreed to a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
which I have on Tuesday. I am terrified they are going to find a tumour. I have three children who need me. I'm also worried that it's bit a full colonoscopy as they might miss something.

Cyst found in pelvic and abdominal ultrasound
The specialist was great, he sent me for a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound and I had a
sigmoidoscopy
and botox in the fissures to treat them. After the surgery he told me my bowel was really healthy (thank goodness) but the ultrasound showed a cyst that he suspects is linked to the endometriosis.

any natural remedies for nausea????
I have been diagnosed with a functional bowel disorder following numerous tests which all showed up clear -
sigmoidoscopy
, endoscopy, barium enema. My main symptom is nausea especially in the morning which often results in dry heaving.

Is this really IBS??? so many of my symptoms arent really typical of IBS but 3 gastroentrologists all agree it is a functional bowel problem
I was then referred to further specialist who performed camera test into stomach and
sigmoidoscopy
all of which frustratingly came back clear!!!

Sigmoidoscopy?
Hello all, well finally going to get something done, not a colonoscopy but a
sigmoidoscopy
. Has anyone had one? Does it hurt? Do you have to go through the colon cleanse like with a colonoscopy?

Do I really need to have 2 operations?
Ive had a
sigmoidoscopy
and a rectal ultrasound which has confirmed endo penetrating through to the submucosal layer in the bowel. I saw my new gynae at the end of June who said it would need to be a full resection of the bowel and it needs to happen because of the risk of obstruction.

Hiatus Hernia
Had to go to my local hospital today for a Gastroscopy and flexible
Sigmoidoscopy
(joys of CD but at least my hospital is thorough) and they discovered I now have a Hiatus Hernia just to make my diet a little more complicated.

Could it be adenomyosis?
Ive had ultrasounds,a ct scan of my kidneys,
sigmoidoscopy
and laparoscopy and nothing is shown up. They removed a cyst from my ovary on the last lap I had in Feb.

Years of thinking all the discomfort was normal!!!!!
So in August 2012 I went to see my consultant along with photos taken during my laparoscopy, he was excellent and I was booked in for an MRI scan, an ultra sound scan of my pelvis,
sigmoidoscopy
endoscopy and a health check.

Pain, pain, pain
Reading posts on this site has been illuminating. I have had IBS for as long as I can remember (I'm 66). Even as a small child I can remember saying I had a 'funny feeling and tummy ache' and doctors scratching their heads about the cause, which was never found. Over the years I've had barium meals

Hi I'm new to this site so don't really know how things work - but my GP has just told me to go on a 24 hour fast. Is this normal/ usual?
However I was diagnosed with IBS 10 years ago when I had tummy pain for some months and the
sigmoidoscopy
didn't reveal anything. I've had mild bloating since then but nothing like now and haven't been to GP with any problems related to IBS since then.
