Sigmoidoscopy Survived
It was positive news and I was told when I came round that at least as far as the
sigmoidoscopy
reaches my bowel came back clear of Endo and most importantly Dave the nodule hasn't infiltrated all the way through the wall lining from the other side, which from the sounds of it may give me more surgical

I've had 2 ultrasound scans, seen a urologist and had a
sigmoidoscopy
of part of my intestines. All clear. I went gluten free back in September and eat lots of fresh fruit and veg. Here are the results of the blue horizons blood test that I have just had done. Don't know what to do next.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
Hello Folks, Today I've had a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
that looked at the lower part of the colon area- due to ongoing bleeding symptoms spanning across 2.5 years as it's been on and off - though for the past 3 weeks it's been alright.

Sigmoidoscopies
Hello ladies. I wondered if any of you could share what after effects if any you may have had from one of these. I'm meant to be having one under General Anaesthetic on Saturday week and wondering if I need to warn work just in case I may be needing to have the Monday as wfh way or ill. It all seems

I'm new here
I've since had a
sigmoidoscopy
where a polyp was removed but my biopsy was clear and showed no inflammation, so my gastroenterologist has organised another blood test for inflammation and a test for coeliac but said she's sure it's ibs. I've had a very bland diet today but still in so much pain.

Just when I thought it was safe...rigid sigmoidoscopy next week!
Hello ladies. OK finally feeling a bit fed up and need a little moan. Survived the lap, cystoscopy and Mirena Tuesday. Today I woke up with a burning urethra so bladder infection and and to go back in for a urine test and antibiotics. Doc was lovely again mind and checked my wounds which had leaked.

In Utter Meltdown - Warning - Trauma Trigger Topic!
After freaking out about the
sigmoidoscopy
i called the secretary, said I was worried and he agreed via the secretary that I didn't have to have it, on which basis I agreed to show up. But I was absolutely in a state of panic when I got there as a manual exam was still meant to happen.

Just been diagnosed...
I'm waiting for a
sigmoidoscopy
and then will either have a laparoscopy or a more invasive surgery on my bowel. All of the above frighten me to bits! The thought of having this "bowel prep" is awkward and painful, or possibly having resection of the bowel which is petrifying.

Not sure about IBS diagnosis
I also pass blood in my stools (I will be having a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
shortly to investigate this) which I have been told is not normal for an IBS patient. Having researched the causes of pale stools, the majority of people say it could be related to the gall bladder/ liver/ billiary system.

I don't know what else to do :( advice on BSGE clinic
I also had a
sigmoidoscopy
in may which they found nothing. I've since been in more pain since my lap, I've actually been signed off work now because I actually cannot even manage a few hours there.

IBS turned out to be IBD
I got an appointment for a Flexible
Sigmoidoscopy
(just the large bowel) and the nurse found moderate-severe inflammation so done a full colonoscopy there. They took biopsies and said it looks like Ulcerative Colitis and they're surprised at how long I've managed to cope with it.

I'm new here! I have bleeding with my stools and am scared
The first thing my GP said when I mentioned the symptoms in Feb was that she can't refer me to a gynae until I've gone for a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
to look at the left side of the colon. I managed to get an appointment for this in May which came out clear.
