One more work day then off on the merry go round again. Sigmoidoscopy under general anaesthetic. Saturday 8.00am. Dreading it.

Wishing you lots and lots of luck Starry I too am due one as couldn't go thru with the one last year was meant to have as to anxious, and like you I'm dreading it..x

Hi Charlie. Ditto! I was meant to do this mid December and had a total meltdown over it.

It's the only time I cried in front of a clinician. Deal negotiated to have a General Anaesthetic still only just about got me to agree.

What a thing to spend your weekend doing!

Thanks Charlie-36 x So very relieved that it's over! The worst bit was I'd not factored in the trauma of enema insertion which for me was emotionally challenging. After telling me off initially the nurse was fantastic once she clocked I was properly afraid. I still couldn't avoid crying though. She was mercifully super quick. Once that was past I coped relatively ok.
