Anyone had a phosphate enema for a flexi-sigmoidoscopy or other procedure?
Hi, I'm being investigated for pelvic floor pain and anorectal pain and my colorectal consultant wants me to have a flexi-
sigmoidoscopy
. To have the flexi-sig I am due to have a phosphate enema. If you've ever had a phosphate enema, I'd be grateful to know how you got on with it.

He had a flexible

I've also been referred for a
sigmoidoscopy
with their colorectal surgeon. I'm terrified but I feel more confident about the care that I will recieve here.

My journey - no diagnosis
I have also been to see infectious (tropical diseases), ear nose and throat specialists, gastroenterology for a
sigmoidoscopy
(which showed up nothing) and scans (which I'm currently waiting to have done).

What’s happening with my bowels?
I had a
sigmoidoscopy
last Wednesday and the bowel appears to look normal and no inflammation, but it’s not in my head. I took photos so I can show saying it wasn’t normal. Anyone know what it is?

Intrinsic antibody test after B12 multivits
Interestingly my fatigue, weakness and dizziness increased after having entonox (gas and air) for a
sigmoidoscopy
(results clear but had due to severe IBS pain). I have had to take some time off work, been more clumsy and feel "all over the place" /foggy brained.

Horrendous flexible sigmoidoscopy
Hi, So today I had a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
to rule out anything significant bowel related to try and explain some bleeding and mucus along with the usual IBS symptoms and some inflammation detected in my bloods.

Big thanks to you all
I had my
sigmoidoscopy
today and am very pleased to say - all is well - I'm surprised how well I feel, we really don't appreciate how bad stress can make us feel.

Hi, just a quick question had
sigmoidoscopy
yesterday. Very painful throughout. They took 6 biopsies. So I expected some bleeding. But this evenings bowel movement it looks like bits of flesh when I wiped. Is this normal? I have taken a photo but didnt want to put people off by posting it P

Tuesday as I’ve had pain in abdomen and back since the
sigmoidoscopy
. My consultant called me in today. He felt fluid in my tummy. Had blood test and scan has been booked. Maybe PET scan too. He wants to do a thorough investigation. It might not be a recurrence but I’m thinking it is.

Bowel endometriosis and bowel resection
I’ve had an MRI and today a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
due to endo infiltrating my bowel. It’s also in other places too so I’m looking at surgery which the gynaecologist and bowel surgeoin will do together. Part of my bowel has to be removed and the two ends joined- a resection.

Does anyone know of a good pain consultant, in or reasonably near the East Berks/South Bucks borders? - If so, please pm me with details.
I was referred to a local colorectal surgeon on the NHS, but I had a terrible first consultation with him - which included him performing a flexi
sigmoidoscopy
on me without my consent and without me having an enema first (which meant that my rectum and sigmoid colon couldn't be viewed properly because

Inflammation.
Since my
sigmoidoscopy
three weeks ago Ive been getting tenderness and pain around the left rib area. My
sigmoidoscopy
showed that the thickness the CT identified was nothing. 👍🏻 I went to my Gp about these pains. He prescribed gaviscon and some other tablets.

Hi - IBS Newbie here
I have previously had blood tests and a
sigmoidoscopy
, which both came back clear (thankfully). I have basically had very low level stomach ache for the last few months, which has become more noticeable in the last week (24 hours a day stomach ache at various levels).

Is is possible to inspect inside a rectocele with a flexi sigmoidoscope?
And he also didn't tell me that he was going to do a flexi
sigmoidoscopy
; he just examined me with a lubed, gloved finger and before I knew it he was examining me with a flexi sigmoidoscope!...
