Awaiting diagnosis

I had an urgent referral to my local hospital following rectal bleeding and a swelling in my rectum. I've had a sigmoidoscopy with biopsies and CT and MRI scans. I get the results next week and expect cancer to be confirmed.

It's important to be strong and positive no matter what the results are. Accept the situation and deal with it one step and one day at a time to help you get through this difficult situation. I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer 10 months ago, had surgery and chemo, got the "all clear" 2 months ago and will be monitored over the next 5 years. Having faith and trust in God and being positive kept me going throughout and at peace with the situation. All the best and will keep you in my prayers.

I too had stage 3 bowel cancer two years ago. They chop out the cection of the colon with the tumour and sweep up with a flush of chemotherapy. This is now likely to be only 3 months ( see the SCOT REPORT). Had two years clear now . This is one cancer they have really got results.
