Problems after gastroscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy
I recently had a gastroscopy and
sigmoidoscopy
on June 14th to investigate a low blood count. Since the evening after the scopes I have had problems.

Starting to accept my problems!
I must add I had a
sigmoidoscopy
that showed no inflammation, but I'm starting to wonder maybe it's a skip lesion of inflammation in the transverse and decending part of the bowel.

Rectal bleeding during period, sigmoidoscopy shows no endo. Any ideas...?
He also referred me to an endoscopy consultant for a
sigmoidoscopy
. Since I've started having sex again, I'm still bleeding. Had more scans a couple of weeks ago and I had the
sigmoidoscopy
today. And it showed my colon as normal...no endo!

PAIN KILLERS AND AF
For the last month since the evening after the endoscopy and
sigmoidoscopy
I have not been able to eat a meal without having a bowel movement and explosive wind and flatus all the time and as a consequence lost 2 stone in weight. Getting an appointment to see my GP is a huge challenge.

Cervix too narrow for hysteroscopy
With regards to the endo, he apparently couldn't see any during the lap, however due to my symptoms (rectal bleeding during my period) he's also referred me to a gastroenterologist for a
sigmoidoscopy
to look for endo in my bowel.

GUT HEALTH - here is the latest scientific consensus regarding an unpalatable but increasingly important subject:
Less than 50 g stool was transplanted in 25 (45%) of 55 studies per attempt, and of 83 studies that published administration route, 48 (58%) reported via
sigmoidoscopy
or colonoscopy.

Ill and scared
To get a diagnosis seemed to take forever and i didn't undergo a colonoscopy until Jan 2010 although did have a
sigmoidoscopy
which was clear. Finally advised had mild diverticula disease. By this time I was feeling horribly ill and had to give up work.

Feel like giving up but it's only getting worse
Also had a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
which came back clear (in fact I was complimented during the procedure which was very odd!). I was told by the gynecologist when I was about 20 that I should just stay on the pill and they would check further if there was anything wrong when it came to conceiving.

Sigmoidoscopy
I am due to have a
sigmoidoscopy
next week, I have been sent the enema to use at home before I leave for the hospital, can someone tell me if I am likely to need the toilet on the way. My IBS is worsened by stress so I'm thinking my bowels are not going to behave just because I have had a enema.

Colorectal polyps
My 27 year old son had a
sigmoidoscopy
today after years of digestive troubles. 3 polyps were found and sent for biopsy. He has been told he will probably need to have a colonoscopy. He is very anxious. Does anybody have experience of colorectal polyps in younger patients?

Sigmoidoscopy Update
Hello everyone, So I've had the
sigmoidoscopy
today but there were some things that quizzed me and the nurses. They asked for my story before going in for the procedure and as I explained the A&E situation they were puzzled why I was referred for a
sigmoidoscopy
as it only sees part of the bowel.

Sigmoidoscopy this week
Finally after being in A&E just before Christmas I've got a
sigmoidoscopy
for the end of the week. When the team at ambulatory care said potential IBD I was unsure when the gastroenterologist requested a
sigmoidoscopy
rather than a colonoscopy is this procedure what is used to diagnose IBD?
