I have RA and on cimzia injections every 2 weeks.I can't have the shingles vaccine due to it being a live vaccine.
My consultant mentioned a non live one (in his words a 'dead' one)
Has anyone had this at all

it is only the non live vaccine that is offered now. I’ve had mine, 8 weeks apart with no issues.
Yes lots of people have had the non live vaccine - Shingrix- now available very successfully.
So do speak to your practice nurse to arrange to have it if you would like it.
Nearly everyone ? lol its called Shingrex and in my case it really hurt the arm for a couple of weeks. But Shingles is far, far worse. Even the vaccine is only 70% effective so like me you can get it agin but it stops the worst of it. Be in no doubt this is one vaccine that is vital for the prevention of what may seen to be common but is nevertheless awful illness. I was hospitalised with Shingles and the pain can be unbelievable.
I had the non live vaccine, Shingrix, 3 months apart. I’m on Cimzia and mtx.
Shingles vaccines are not live ones anymore. I had mine in October 24. The only thing with the non live is you have 2, six maths apart.
Yes, had Shingrix, 2 jabs. Non live. Was offered it as an older person with RA.
I've had the shingles non-live no problems . Good luck.
when I was referred for biologic I was phoned up to go for the shingles vaccine before i started. It was the medication not age that qualified me. It is good to set aside some duvet time just after the jag but it is not that bad and I hear shingles is much worse. I need to go back for the second one after 10 weeks.
I had it. Two injections a few weeks apart. Caused sore arm and tiredness but otherwise ok. I am also on cimzia.
