I wonder if anyone has had any reaction to the shingles vaccine. I had my first vaccine 6 months ago with no problems. However since my second jab on Friday my arm is very painful and quite swollen. I also felt rough the next day and still not feeling 100%.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced any problems.
thanks

My vaccines were only 8 weeks apart due to my immunosuppressants. The first is no issues, the 2nd I had localised pain & tenderness, nothing more. If it’s red and inflamed, you may have cellulitis. If you think this is the case, you need to see a dr
Another reason why there can be a difference between injections is that if the muscle in your arm is at all tense then it may be sore and red the next day. It can also depend on who is doing it.
We had flu vax with our GP this year and he made me totally relax my arm, and told me why, and sure enough I wasn't the slightest bit sore. Whereas when I have been on those quick in and out vax days they run where they try to do people really quickly, I often get a bit of tenderness.
I had a very painful and swollen injection site 2nd shingles jab, hot and red to touch. About 3 inches diameter, could not sleep on that side. Used a hydrocortisone cream which really helped took about 7 days to settle. Got some antibiotics, but did not need to take them in the end. Very painful!
