Where to live in the UK?
I have
severe
allergic
asthma
, have lived in between Nottingham and Derby for 20 years. It’s only in the last year that my
asthma
became
severe
. I can’t breathe easily at all. I have been under hospital care since March, Xolair has been mentioned but it’s looking like a very long road to get that.

Management of moderate to severe incontinence – no AUS 800 possible but an ileal conduit diversion did the trick
A recent, comprehensive post at the Fight Prostate Cancer (FPC) hub of HU about the Artificial Urinary Sphincter prompted me to update my husband journey. That post made me think a description of my husband’s incontinence experience and his long journey to a solution might be similarly helpful to some

Hartmann’s reversal?
Has anyone had a Hartmann’s reversal at all and how did they find it? I would like my stoma reversed in around ten months, all being well. Thank you Denise

How are your lungs after an asthma flare triggered by virus?
I'm just curious really, since this is not the first time I have experienced it and so it's not a shock to me (and I have an appointment with the asthma nurse booked) I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience? I have just had a chest infection which worsened my asthma. 2 weeks off work

A bit fed up
My
asthma
was diagnosed as
severe
after a nasty chest infection and (mild) pneumonia around Christmas 2019. Since then I’ve accumulated medications - now on Fostair 200/6 2 puffs twice a day, montelukast, Spiriva Respimat, Uniphyllin Continus 500mg a day and Ventolin as a rescue inhaler.

Worsening asthma, all very new to me
Hello, I am quite new to asthma, I got given a blue inhaler last year after having shortness of breath and then got prescribed a brown inhaler to take 2 puffs a day and it seemed to be managed. A few weeks ago my symptoms worsened, to ones I’d not experienced before- wheezing, cough, really tight chest

Asthma and sleep 🛌
Worryingly, lots of people with asthma say they have difficulty sleeping due to their asthma symptoms. If your asthma is waking you up at night, it could be a sign that an asthma attack is on its way and you should contact your GP or asthma nurse about an urgent appointment. Find out more about asthma

Return to teaching after shielding-part 3 -bad to worse! Sorry - long post
After my school said they wouldn’t implement the adjustments recommended by occupational health because of my
severe
asthma
, I wrote to them asking to discuss their reasons (as advised by my union) and suggesting ways of enabling me to work safely.

Interesting article...
I was looking up the effect that weight has on asthma, and came across an interesting article from the American Lung Association. They say that people with a BMI index higher than 30, have more trouble breathing (due to their weight) and have more “asthma” symptoms. It was interesting because I was wondering

Is my mother Asthma?
My mother is 80 years old. She was taking Asthma meds since long years. But 3 years ago her doctor told her attacks are only in Autmn and she can get meds only that season. However my mother got self confident and exagerrated by never taking asthma meds. Since 3 years ago she did not have asthma attacks
