Received first Xolair injections today, got a bit dizzy and headachey. I have been told this is normal, but anyone have any experience with this drug? I want to feel results soon, but know it takes time to build up.
I have 50% lung function and severe allergies, IgE 457. Have had asthma all my life and it’s gotten worse in last few years. I am 52 and need to get this under control.
Thank you!

The only time I had side effects after Xolair was after my first shot or two. After that, I was my body adjusted and I was fine. I remember I felt very tired after the first round of shots but couldn't sleep well (I think this is because histamine plays an important role in the sleep cycle). I'm in a Facebook group for Xolair users and a lot of other people report having symptoms like you describe--headachey, a bit dizzy--after the first few shots. For most of us, we seem to be side-effect-free after that (but that's just anecdotal from a support group!)
Xolair has been very helpful for me and has helped me stay off prednisone. I often forget how well it's working until the end of the month when it starts to wear off and my asthma suddenly worsens again. It's a life-changing drug for a lot of us--I hope you find relief with it!
Also--I should add that it took six months to kick in for me so be patient if you don't see results right away.
For me I feel very tired for 2 days but I have a friend who has headaches and itchiness and I was told all of these are very common side effects and nothing to worry about
