In hospital for treatment of psudamonas
I just wanted to share my experience. I queried a couple of weeks ago about treatment for psudamonas in hospital, and had some helpful advice. I'm now nearly 5 days in. It was scary at first being admitted with covid around. But I've been so well looked after and shielded still. I have my own room even

Nasal Irrigation Procedure to avoid Coronavirus
(Reposting - the earlier post was deleted because of an untrusted link) Hello -- I just wanted to pass on information about a simple home procedure to avoid respiratory viral infections such as the coronavirus. Avoiding infections is especially important for people with immune-related kidney conditions

Anyone ever had endo on ureters or near kidneys? Really struggling just now
Really struggling with pain over my kidney area for the last 2 months. Been treated for a kidney infection and now on my 4th lot of antibiotics in that time. One urine sample came back in that time growing something (one wasn’t sent as too late in the day) then another has just come back clear, despite

Finally Cardio appointment
Morning all. After my visit to the GP and a change of meds I’m off to Cardiology on the 29 Sep, when hopefully I can get some answers. I’m my letter it requests I take all medications which is understandable and a early morning urine sample I just wondering what they test it for not as it’s a problem

Excess mucous/cough
Wondering what others use to get rid of excess mucous, relieve the condition. Can be quite distressing at times as he can become breathless until the mucous is cleared . When he does manage to cough it up is thick grain of rice size. His voice is then mess horse and his breathing better. He does stream

It seems to me that most people have gone in for Ablation of one sort or another. Is it just me or does everyone get it done?
I have been diagnosed with AFIB in and out for about 8 months and trying to learn all the facts. This Covid has thrown a wrench into the medical care system in Canada and I'm sure world wide. So, getting to talk to these doctors is not easy. I talked on the phone with my Cardiologist today but he wouldn't

Bit of a panic
Sorry if this is long and rambling. I’ve had very loose stools for about 3 months with bloating etc. About a month ago it started getting really difficult to go to the loo, it always felt like I hadn’t fully emptied my bowels but that something was narrowing the passage. Last weekend, I ended up calling

Creatinine/egfr levels + drinking water
I am a 70 yr old male, stage 3b, one kidney. I have read tons of articles and posts about drinking water (64 to 100 oz/day) to maintain and improve your Egfr (lower Creatinine). The consensus seemed to be this is highly recommended. I myself for the past months have followed that approach. Even

Blood Results Back!
Hi, I have my blood results back. A little confused..... I was checked for diabetes, thyroid, RA and evidently for Gout! Results show, that my thyroid medication will remain the same, even though I am top of my range. I am still in remission for Pre Diabetes, gone from 47 back down to 44. Test for RA

About to start Venetoclax- what to expect.
In RMH Sutton in the UK as an inpatient. Comfortable and well looked after. Had a PET scan and now hooked up to saline drip for hydration. Venetoclax ramp up day one starts tomorrow. What can I expect. Will I feel different? Obviously TLS is the big worry but apart from that wondering if I'm going to

Renal biopsy reaction
Hi Everyone, I have lupus nephritis and had a renal biopsy some 12 days ago, to investigate possible increase in lupus activity. I have since developed a new, persistent middle back ache, which radiates round to the hips. I had blood and urine tests some five days ago, but they indicated nothing unusual

Skin scrapes
The effects of ageing, (I’m 73), and Pred mean that I have to be very careful not to scrape the skin - but that doesn’t always work. So I am a mini expert on what to do when the inevitable brush against a hard surface results in the skin folding back like tissue paper. If it’s very deep go to A&E. They
