Advice for a frustrated singer
Hi everyone. I am hoping that someone can help me. I joined a choir about six weeks ago and I really enjoy it, Problem is that I struggle to hold my notes along with the rest of the choir because I cannot take breaths as deep as I need. Also I find that I start to cough when singing high notes.

Advice needed on Aspergillus allergy
I started with ate onset asthma 5 years ago, having become allergic to Aspregillus. I also suffer from an allergy to Sulphites through the form of rhinitus which I have had for over 20 years. I have to take 7.5mg of Prednisolon per day along with Alvesco and Seretide. I tried a course of Itracazonole

paradoxical broncospasm
I've been on seretide for about 3 months now, but have only recently noticed that I get some paradoxical broncospasm when taking it. I take 2 puffs, twice a day with a spacer. My peak flow before taking it at the moment, is in the region on 510-540, within 10 mins of taking the seretide my reading drop

New add on treatment Spiriva
Hello, I'm new to this forum, had asthma for over 30 years, I'm 36 now, but I'm in the middle of a very bad relapse. I've seen the consultant twice in the last 4 weeks. I take seretide 250, singulair, citerizine, nasonex, and now I've been given spiriva as an add on once a day. I thought it was stabilising

Hello - I'm new to the forum
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I'll do a little intro, as I know most forums like newbies to do that - I'm Emma, I'm 30, married to Sean since Oct 2011 and we have two dogs, Jake and Jasper who keep us busy and entertained! ""Cinnamon"" is my nickname from work based on my married surname.

Getting an asthma plan
I posted on here last week about the difficulty getting treatment for worsening symptoms (generally my asthma is worse at night and responds well to medication so I find that I have minimal symptoms when I have an appointment). I eventually got a late appointment with a sympathetic doctor who said that

Salbutamol and blood sugar levels
I've just found out (googled a hunch) that high-ish doses of salbutamol and salmeterol can raise blood sugar. This happens through the same mechanism that lowers potassium, and as I regularly get low potassium, I'm guessing that I also get the blood-sugar raising effect. On saturday I had lots of acute

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've posted on here as lucky for me have been going through a good spell the last few months. I've been unwell the last week with lungs being a bit grumpy so I'm bound to the couch. I did have lung function tests last week and was given Atrovent to try. I have

Treatment for Night Time Symptoms
Hi, After three months of fairly well controlled asthma (which I haven't had for years) I have been having severe nocturnal symptoms for nearly two weeks. This coincides with changing my inhalers after a hospital appointment, a weekend of bad hay fever and a possible virus (I teach 6 year olds and they

Flare-up's once the pollen comes out!
I've recently had a pretty bad flare-up of my asthma symptoms, forcing me to be rushed to hospital last week on nebulisers and prednisolone. I'm sixteen and until last year, my asthma seemed to be pretty well-controlled. However, last June I ended up in hospital with pneumonia, and the result= my asthma

Feeling kind of frustrated
For the last week and a half my asthma has been acting up again. After a couple of good weeks it seems somehow harder to deal with when things go back to where there were before. I had a few weeks where I was feeling pretty good and my energy level was actually better than it has been in years.

My Return (hello)
Hello Guys. Been somewhat a hell of a long time since was last on here. I do hope you are keeping well and looking after yourselves. What brings me back...My asthma!! and for unknown reasons has worsened the last 10/12 months and in all honesty its quite annoying as it has been pretty well controlled

Fat boy
When I looked in the mirror a few weeks ago after my bath, all I could see was a fine specimen of manhood. However, my wife called me a fat, bald-headed little b****r. Now in fairness I can’t really argue the little, being only 5’4” in old money. I also can’t dispute that perhaps I am thinning a bit
