Prednisolone side effects
Hey everyone! Wondering if anyone else has had the same problems as me with shorter courses (10 days) of prednisolone. Finished this course 5 days ago after an asthma flare up (Have seretide and salbutamol regularly). From 2 days in I have had worse side effects than ever before; Sore mouth and sensitivity

Aerochamber breathing problems when not cleaned?
Hey there does anyone else feel that their breathing gets a bit more restricted when the aerochamber goes for about 3 - 4 weeks without cleaning it? Iam on Clenil Modulite 100 i did give fostair a try but it was giving me bad headaches. Might need to try other inhaler used to take seretide years ago

Salamol
Hi everyone I normally use Salbutamol (as well as Seretide 250) but I found a Salamol easy-breathe inhaler in a drawer last week I got last year. Used it for a few days instead of my usual Ventolin but stopped as I developed a wheezy chest which is unusual for me and also had trouble sleeping last night

Seretide and skin problem.
I took Seretide for about 20 years. During that period I developed a skin problem where the skin particularly on my hands became very dry and flaky to the extent that layers of skin would fall away and they would bleed when gripping things even fairly tightly. This could be painful. I was treated with

How much oral steroid is too much
Hi, I haven't posted for a while. My 14 year old so has been under specialist care and on medication for asthma since just before he was a year old (with a a few years somewhere in the middle where everything was nicely under control and discharged from the hospital). He had pneumonia around three years

Vitamin D improvement
I had read that Vit D can help with chest tightness and wheezing, recently took a few low doses, and was surprised that I did not need to take any inhalers for three days, despite going for walks in cold weather, which usually would have a negative effect. I had recently been given Symbicort instead of

Montelukast
Six months ago, following another exacerbation of my cough variant asthma my GP wanted me to start on Montelukast. However I had read so many negative comments and reports defused to try. I’m on Seretide 250 and Fexofenadine 180. Following yet another course of steroids Christmas week I agreed to

680 queries
Hi all 680 here. I'm wanting to know if anyone has noticed any difference in their asthma when they have been on Seretide 125 then given Sirdupla 125. Does anyone know if these inhalers are the same ? I would be grateful for any comments. Thank you

Will moisturiser help with Seretide bruising
Hi I know from previous posts that many of you have talked about Seretide and bruising. I’ve got some small green/yellow bruises on my thighs that I’ve got no idea where they have come from! I take Seretide 500 1 puff twice a day and I’ve had 3 courses of Pred since June which I think may have thinned

Puzzled - stepping up preventer medicine when symptoms come on so quickly
I was diagnosed at age 60 close to 6 years ago after a series of winter illnesses left me breathless and with a constant cough. My asthma was well controlled after a number of weeks on Clenil Modulite. Then a GP suggested I step down to 1 puff twice a day from 2. All was well until I got a chest infection

When to take salbutamol?
I know this is a strange question from a life long sufferer but at what point does everyone take their rescue inhaler? What got me thinking was if my GP asked me at the moment how often I take my inhaler I would say I wheeze a few times a week. However there are times when I feel chesty, PF drop and

Osteoporosis at 53 due to steroids
Hi, I've just found out I've got osteoporosis in my spine probably due to steroids 😞 my hips are going the same way. I've been on the highest dose of Seretide for years and in the last 12 mths have had 3 lots of oral steroids too as I've got mild bronchiectasis too. I now take a smaller dose and am

Medical trial?
I have developed nose polyps, apparently asthma patients can develop these, for which am about to take part in a medical trial of clorethromycin. It is possible this will reduce them, I am hoping this will mean that better nose breathing will mean my chest will clear, instead of the nightime dry throat

Sore throat/headache/eye pain
I moved from Seretide to a Relvar Ellipta and Incruse several months ago. I keep getting headaches, sore throat and eye pain. I’m not sure whether it’s the Incruse or the Relvar causing the problems. Does anyone have any experience of these symptoms whilst on Relvar or Incruse?

TRIMBOW
Hi - need some advice. Been asthmatic since childhood (now in my 60s) have been on Seretide 125 for years but suddenly been changed to Trimbow, after bad summer due to hayfever resulting in bad spirometer reading. Not sure I like Trimbow (I don't feel as secure..) but it seems to be new and no one

Alternatives to fostair?
Hello I seem to be having quite a few side effects from Fostair 100/6 which I take two puffs twice a day using spacer. As well as the hand tremor I seem to have a feeling of restlessness, and a recent blood test showed low potassium (waiting for results of repeat blood test). Also developed thrush infection
