Seretide 250 v Symbicort 400 12
I have severe copd and my gp has recently changed my inhaler from Seretide 250 (2 puffs twice daily) to Symbicort 400 12 (1 puff twice daily). The Seretide did not seem to be helping my breathing. I would like to hear from anyone who is on Symbicort and how they are getting on with it. Viv

SLOPPY
Over the last few days several things have cropped up on here that made me wonder about taking my inhalers. Was I getting sloppy after eleven years? Answer? Yep! This morning I re-read all the instructions and added to them comments made on here. Started off with the Ventolin, waited 15 minutes,

Hiya, Finished pred/amoxicillin combo on thurs, started seretide on mon. Today feel really tight chested, coughing loads and feel breathless. Using my blue a fair bit. Rang our MIU, who told me to ring 111 as they couldn't prescribe, as I'd already had treatment? Well, 3 hours on, still waiting for

Blue lips, tiredness, supressed breathing. But no wheezing?
Hi guys :) Today I had another rather odd experience, but before I explain further I'll give you a little background info. I'm female, 18 and I've had asthma for 8 years straight now (brief let up from early childhood asthma between ages 9 and 10, but it returned.). It was poorly controlled, so I was

I was diagnosed with copd three days ago. My condition is graded as severe and my lung age was 95 although I am really 64. I have been put on Seretide 250, two puffs twice a day, which so far has had no effect. I have smoked for years and am trying very hard to give this up as well. It is not very

Finished pred, still not feeling well
Had my last lot of pred on Tues morning - was feeling fine in myself, still had a chesty cough but nowhere near as bad as last week. Hadn't been doing much but was fine pottering round the house, driving etc. so long as I didn't go too mad. Yesterday and today cough seems to be getting worse again, slept

Hello I'm new to this forum but not to asthma. I'm 37 and have had asthma since my teens but in the last 8 years or so, things have gone down hill. I've been in hospital with pneumonia a couple of times and get regular chest infections during the winter months. Up till a month ago I was on seretide

Confused about different strengths of Asthma Medications?!!
Hiya, Really random post!! I have been suspected of having asthma for years, and have had a blue reliever inhaler for when necessary, which has usually been when its cold, when I'm ill or during hayfever times - most of the year then :-/ Anyway since September I have had constant chest infections,

Is anyone else suffering from an increase of illnesses since having Viral Meningitis or Viral Meningio-Encephalitis?
Hi - I was admitted as an emergency with Mengio-Encephalitis in August 2011 and put in isolation for over two weeks. Since then, have been back into hospital four times: 1). Nov 2011 - I began a severe chest infection that four doses of anti-biotics couldn’t shift! 2). Feb 2012 - I was admitted

Smoking - COPD
I used to wonder when walking why is everyone ahead of me. I did notice I was a bit breathless but took no notice. I admit I loved my cigs and smoked up to 30 a day but have also been a big smoker for over thirty years. One day during a short walk I found that I was unable to move as I could not breath

fostair and hydrocortisone
Just a quick one, I've been changed from Seretide 250 (2 twice a day), Fluticasone 250 (2 twice a day) and 7.5mg of prednisilone a day, to Fostair 100/6 (4 twice a day) and hydrocortisone 20mg in the morning. These changes were made based on issues of adrenal suppresion and the testing of it and nothing
