Two steps forward and one back
Hi all, Sorry if this turns into a bit of a moan but I feel like I am at a bit of a dead end asthma wise when I know it should not be this way. For those who don't know, basically, I have had asthma for over 25 years (since I was 2) and have been up and down the treatment ladder including being on

This is a strange illness
Been to see hubby's consultant today and she said that his breathing tests show a worsening of the condition which is strange considering how well he feels. She has changed his medication from seretide to symbicort and has lowered the dose of prednisolone in an attempt to stop his arms bruising so badly

What Next?? More Pred?
Hello Like many people on here, my asthma has flared up lately with the very warm weather and the pollen count being so high. I was put on Pred 40mg for 5 days by the nurse at my GP surgery, and I'm just coming to the end of another 5 day course as I am still having symptoms. I've also started using

where to go next?
Hi. I'm 20 and I've been diagnosed with asthma for the last 16 years, I've had various degrees of control over it throughout the years, ranging from needing salbutamol as needed, to multiple inhalers, tablets, steroids and hospital admissions. I'm diagnosed with mild asthma - the only numbers I have

Osteoporosis - Seretide side effect?
At 41 years old I have just been told I have Osteoporosis. I went to the doctor about the bruises I have as a side effect of the Seretide and so she decided to send me for a bone scan. I see Seretide has bone thinning as a rare side effect in the leaflet.(I have been taking it for 11 years) I am interested

grr leg cramps back again ;-(
I remember why I stopped seretide 2 years ago now, leg cramps!! I stopped and moved to flixotide and oxis, the cramps stopped but the oxis gave me gastrointestinal problems so had to take domperidone to counteract them. If its not one thing its another!!

Moon face woes
Since being diagnosed with adrenal failure in March, I've been on hydrocortisone daily. Initially it was 20mg/day and I've now reduced it down to 10mg/day. I also take Seretide, was 250/50 x 2 puffs am/pm. Now I've been able to reduce that down to 1 puff am/pm because my lung function is so much better

Seretide Question/opinions please?
We just had an appointment with my daughter's doctor and have been given Seretide to trial for 2 weeks with her. The doc said it isn't licensed for under 5's (she was 4 in Feb past), so I'm a bit unsure about it. I have seen some of you mention your child being on it, and I'm sure they are pre-schoolers

My ongoing infection.
7 weeks now with a chest infection. Just as it seems to improve, it comes back. I saw my specialist today. He is a star! After 2 lots of ABs and 2 lots of steroids, I knew on Saturday night it was back, so I started my 3rd lot of steroids but no ABs as he had already told me that they won't help.
