How long should cough last after chest infection?
I've recently had two courses of antibiotics for a chest infection that I couldn't get rid of. Finished last course a week ago. Phlegm colour has improved from yellow to clear, horrible nasal congestion has finally dried up, but I still have a cough. I am taking two extra puffs of Seretide per day as

Steam Inhalers
Hi Folks, Who has used a steam inhaler to help clear mucus? I have been looking at Mabis and Gurin ones online but they only seem to be available in the USA. I am 64 years old and have been using Seretide 250 (2 x puffs twice daily) for many years plus salbutamol. All thoughts/views/experiences very

Hi. I've just joined this community as I was Googling my current situation, Bronchitis, having visited my doctor yesterday and been given Prednisolone 40mg twice a day and cefpodoxime (antibiotic) 20 mg once a day for 5 days to sort it. I took my first dose last night and am already feeling better

Sirdupla
Hi, my son who is 9 has been on Seretide for the past few months. He has recently developed a tic where he is shaking his head and this is getting really noticeable that his friends have started to comment 😞. I looked at his inhalers and noticed that his current and last one had been changed to Sirdupla

I took myself to West Mid A&E last Saturday feeling awful. Within 2 minutes of my arrival I was on a nebuliser and, 6 hours later, having been offered a bed for the night chose to go home instead. That was the worst attack I’d had in over 3 decades and I found the experience rather shocking. I’ve managed

My quality of life has been on a rapid decline.. hoping someone can help.

Reflux side effects from combination inhalers- is it from steroid or Laba component?
Hi I noticed that every time that I increase seretide from 500mcg a day to 1000 mcg , I get bad reflux and chest tightness and feel more breathless ( some of it from Gerd as ranitidine helps to relieve it to a point). Does anybody know if reflux is caused by steroid or Laba component - I was thinking

I was diagnosed with late onset asthma when I was 28 (now 55) during my pregnancy with my daughter, quite common apparently. Fostair
Hi, Today My GP agreed to let me try a Fostair inhaler instead of Seretide, which I suspect isn't doing me any good. I've to let him know how it is after two weeks. The Chemist wants to know after a week. Hope it is better. Has anyone done this and found any difference?. Cheers.😀

Pneumonia etc. 😢
Hi everyone. A week ago yesterday, I had to go to A and E with a hugely 🤒 high fever (my innacurate thermometer measured it at 42.7 which I looked up and should have been nearly dead if it really had been that high!) Anyway, was treated by the NHS amazingly quickly and was told I had a severe infection

Annoying clear mucus
Hi everyone! Thanks for always giving me such awesome advice whenever I had a question. About a month ago I had a cold. It was about the first time that it hasn't turned into a chest infection (possibly because I went to Greece where it was warm!). Since then I have had an issue with clear phlegm.

Hayfever in October!!!
Hi folks, I was diagnosed with asthma last year after 2 hospital admissions for bad wheeze, constant cough, runny nose etc. I also had to be admitted via resus with a pretty bad asthma attack which was scary stuff, seeing the worried faces on the paramedics didn't help. I was prescribed seretide 250

Worsening asthma since taking Fostair, despite peak flow etc. looking fine
I have been on Seretide 250 until fairly recently, and my asthma has been the best it has ever been, only needing to take Ventolin about once every 6 months. Since taking Fostair my asthma seems to have got gradually worse, and I am now taking Ventolin most days. I have spoken to doctors about this
