When your asthma nurse gives up on you maybe there is something else happening
Timothy! We have tried everything you can’t keep chopping and changing! These were the harsh words coming down the telephone from my asthma nurse who was seemingly giving up on me. No offer of help, no understanding just the pain in the backside patient that she wanted rid of. Can I go back to Symbicort

Report came through..
Hi Everybody!! Hope you are enjoying the weekend. The Report was so complex that the GP said he'd have to research the answers :))) So I wrote an email to the respiratory clinic because I noticed my asthma has gone up to severe. That is because of the dyspnea, shortness of breath. It should improve

Bad exacerbation yesterday. Dr. Prescribed ciproflacin, steroids and Tritropium inhaler. Also take seretide . Had Tritropium years ago but stopped because of glaucoma. Going to give it another try. Feeling shaky with steroids and becoming more housebound. Lucky I am still on my feet so,shouldn't

Advice needed...
Hi folks. To cut a long story short, my husband collected my inhalers for me this morning from a pharmacy where they're automatically ordered on my behalf. The problem lies in the fact that the prescription that came through from my surgery was for an inhaler which I'm no longer on as it wasn't helping

Today is so far a good day
After a terrible few days with yesterday being the worse so far. I was thinking very strongly of going to A+E but I phoned my surgery for advice. Good enough my Asthma nurse phoned me back within 10 mins and told me to double up on my seretide and to use the ventolin as often as I needed and if things

Feeling happy and hopeful
Hi all last night was the first night in months that I haven't been kept awake coughing, wheezing etc and today is the first time since being on ventolin I have not had to use it ( usually couple of times a day I need it more so in the mornings) let's hope the change to seretide is the answer. Early days

Mucus in the Lungs
I've told my Asthma Nurse I have a lot of mucus stuck in my chest which stops me from laughing out loud and do exercise, even doing the stairs it's hard but she just told me to increase the preventer Seretide to two puffs a day. Why doesn't she send me to the Physio to learn breathing techniques? the

New inhaler
Hi all hope you are all well as you can be in this cold weather..been really struggling for a bit but now been given seretide 250 accuhaler. So hopefully things will start to get better soon. What I want to know is that this type of inhaler is new to me 😳 I've followed instructions and think I've done

Asthma fine during exercise but rubbish afterwards?
Hello! I had really poorly controlled asthma for a while until I was diagnosed with Addison's a few years ago. Now it mostly behaves itself (on seretide and tiotropium and montelukast) except during pollen season when I need extra oral steroids and regular abx. One of the fab things is that I can now

Hi
Hi. I'm 52, and been asthmatic all my life. Got really bad after a persistent chest infection about seven years ago. Came close to having to give up work. Then my fab doctor prescribed Singulair which was life changing and stopped the hacking cough I'd had for five years. Still quite wheezy, and short

Virus asthma and fed up
Hi there I'm getting increasingly frustrated. My asthma consultant has said I have GORD, verified by scan I had for clot on the lung six months ago. She thinks I don't have asthma. Yet yesterday had an attack, wheezing coughing short of breath. Had to ring 999, who were great. After 10 puffs of ventolin

Seretide Discus and Throat Problems
I'm a asthma patient. I am 34 years old and i was diagnosed like 10 years ago. For all this time i was only using ventolin for the attacks, and no other medication. But lately ( 6 moths or so) attacks are getting more often. So my doctor prescribed Seretide discus for me. But whenever i use Seretide

Orange accuhaler, Purple accuhaler.
What's the difference between the orange and purple accuhaler other than the colour. I've tried to search the difference but I cannot find anything because when I type in the name of the orange accuhaler it comes up with seretide but that's the purple inhaler?

New year, same lungs
Well this is a good start to the year(!) Luckily I'm not incapacitated, but just as I was about to drop to 5mg pred/day and then off, I started up with a chest infection. I bargained with the OOH doc but he wasn't comfortable prescribing me Flix on top of my (already maximum dose) Seretide as that is
