TRIMBOW

Hi - need some advice. Been asthmatic since childhood (now in my 60s) have been on Seretide 125 for years but suddenly been changed to Trimbow, after bad summer due to hayfever resulting in bad spirometer reading. Not sure I like Trimbow (I don't feel as secure..) but it seems to be new and no one I know is on it. Any ideas why I would have been changed - any experiences - and it because its cheaper?

Just need to talk about this

You have been changed from Seretide because it no longer works for you as evidenced by worsening symptoms.

I was changed from Seretide to Duoresp spirivain Dec after long time on Seretide and increased infections. New inhaler can take more if need it.

I personally have no experience of Trimbow but person I am carer for who has COPD changed from Seretide to Trimbow made big difference.

Hi thanks for getting back

Am giving trimbow a chance - into 3rd month - but dont think its working as well as seretide was - so now not sure whether its the trimbow or whether i have just deteriorated

am going to back to the doc to suggest more investigation as i haven't had a consultant look at me for years.

cheers

It might be worth getting referred to respiratory consultant.

Hayfever/infections etc can mean after a while the inhalers stop working it can be trial and error.

I had more frequent infections last year and in Dec got a nasty infection which meant the changed me to Duoresp Spiriva. This is a combination of preventer and reliever. When good take two puff twice a day but can go to 2puffs 3x a day to a maximum 2puffs x4 a day.

It took me 10weeks to get rid of the symptoms but have not felt right since.

You do have to give it a while to get in system.

I was changed from Fostair to Trimbow, tried it for about 2/3 weeks but felt I was going downhill. Went to see my GP and explained I didn't feel 100% confident with it. He changed my repeat prescription back to Fostair, and I feel much better.

Not what you're looking for?
