I have developed nose polyps, apparently asthma patients can develop these, for which am about to take part in a medical trial of clorethromycin. It is possible this will reduce them, I am hoping this will mean that better nose breathing will mean my chest will clear, instead of the nightime dry throat from mouth breathing which causes coughing and chestiness. I feel my intake of Seretide has had side effects which I would rather not have, so any way of reducing it for me will be good. Anyone else doing this trial, it is being funded by the NHS?

Medical trial?
But you may be one of the patients who receives a placebo!
I'm pretty sure clarithomycin isn't a trial. I've just come off these they are antibiotics to just get rid of bacterial infections in sinuses and throat.

Yes I have also taken it before, for throat infections, but this is supposedly a specific trial for nose polyps. Remember a while back they found that clarithromycin was unexpectedly effective in treating stomach problems caused by helicobacter pylori, when someone with stomach ulcers had seen an improvement after taking it for an infection. I think this is a targeted trial of clarithromycin for the particular problem of nose polyps.
