Hello, First post here, but, I do post elsewhere on HU in heart forums. After reading other posts, I suppose I have a question and curious as to if or when a kidney specialist would become involved in someone's treatment? I'll readily admit I'm a bit ignorant on kidney matters, the heart is probably

Digestion issues - meds?
Hi all, I have a diagnosis for CHF secondary to idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy back in July. Was put on all these pills which have halved the size of my ankles and overall make me feel like I’m - well, not dying anymore, which is great. But I’ve been experiencing some digestion issues (almost like

Sitagliptin
Has anyone ever been prescribed sitagliptin for recurrent implantation failure? I had a biopsy in Coventry (Dr Brosens) as we’ve had 3 failed transfers with top embryos and it has shown results which are more in keeping with recurrent miscarriages (which I’ve never had, never had a positive test) rather

Results from scan. 36% ef. Previous scan in Jan 35-40%. no change since start Dapagliflozin/forxiga. Q. How do we improve ef rate?
39 yrs old. Had a suspect heart attack back in 2019 where my ef rate was 12% and was in ICU for 10 days praying for my life and coughing up pink phlegm. All the fun stuff of dying from heart failure. Luckily managed to pull through. Fast forward several years of meds and slow recovery. My ef bounced

Side effects of empagliflozin/jardiance for high blood sugar of the liver?
I have been using empagliflozin/Jardiance for high blood sugar 88, when tested for diabetes 2 been taken off metformin which I have been on since March 2020, worry that my high blood sugar level is too high, despite loosing two and a half stone, so cholesterol is minimum? On empagliflozin for five weeks

SGLT-2 Inhibitors to (partially) “Starve” Glucose Dependent Cancers
There has been many theories proposed about how to “starve cancer”. And many have gone down rabbit holes chasing unproven theories about how to do so. Unfortunately, IMO, they simply do not work. Cancers are very metabolically flexible. They will take what they need to survive and grow and adapt to whatever

Curious
Good morning allHaving had DCM for over six years now and still fit and well I was curious to ask if anyone on Dapagliflozin has issues with raised haemocrit? It's been a long time since posting on here and I've forgotten how useful it can be to all. Hope everyone has a nice day.

canagliflozin hope?
just read that this drug can help Lupus sufferers. Anyone know anything other than the basics? It is reported to help with arthritis pain, works on T cells so infections won’t necessarily cause our bodies to turn against us. Used for type 2 diabetes, it works in the kidneys, so not for everyone, and

tiredness caused by Entresto?
having been diagnosed with Heart Failure last year I was put on revised meds (Entresto, Dapagliflozin, spironolactone), symptoms, improved. After a few months Consultant increased dose of Entresto to the middle dose. Ejection factor had improved from 20/25%, to 39%. . Also replaced Spiro with eplernone

Dapagliflozin (Forxiga, Farxiga). Has anyone been on this drug long term and experienced improvements to heart?
I have recently been to the cardiologist who has stated my ef rate had dropped from 44% to 35-40% which is a small decline but he is hoping over this next year, that the drug dapa will improve things before intervening any further. Has anyone noticed improvements from this drug specifically?

Atorvastatin and liver function
Twelve weeks ago, after signs of some plaque on an MRI scan, I added 40mg of Atorvastatin to my daily medications (in addition to 10mg of Empagliflozin, which is now apparently recommended for people like me who are recovering from Heart Failure). Blood tests for liver function 3 weeks ago showed slightly

Dapagliflozin and Thrush
Just taken a pill for thrush, my third attack since starting on dapagliflozin about 18 months ago, annoying but the benefits from taking it far outweigh the disadvantages. I would really appreciate some help ,advice ,please!
I posted a couple of months ago asking for advice on alternative to Bisoprolol. After reading reviews I thought I would like to try Nebivolol. My GP wouldn’t prescribe Nebivolol ,only carvedilol, as I had an appointment with a cardiologist in 8 days I thought would ask the doctor then. During the

Bloated stomach and coughing
Hey allI've noticed my stomach is rather bloated and I'm constantly coughing. It's been like it a few days. I take furosemide and dapagliflozin to stop any fluid retention. I've noticed I'm getting tired more as well. Is it worth bothering my heart nurse in case of symptoms flaring up or am I overthinking
