According to the side effects list it isn't. If it doesn't go way and you suspect there is nothing else wrong with you, I suggest you go talk to a pharmacist to get a professional opinion and see what they suggest you do. That said sometimes you need a few days for you and your body to get used to new medication, so it might just be that
Empagliflozin is primarily used to reduce blood sugars in t2 diabetes but also used for heart health. I suggest you get your blood sugars checked as they may be going a bit low. Does eating something help with the feeling?
Hi Familyk. My cardiologist originally put me on Dapagliflozin, but I had to stop that after a fortnight as it gave me chronic back pain, so he switched me to Empagliflozin, which I've now been on for about a year. I wouldn't say I feel I have a hangover, but I have been much more tired since then, with no energy. Probably coincidental, as I've had other things going on in the last year. I'm currently awaiting the results of a blood test to see if something else is going on.
All drugs can take up to around 2 months to "settle in", so your hangover could be part of that. If it persists, speak to whoever prescribed it. There are always alternatives.
Hi. My mam started on empagliflozin 4 weeks ago. After a week she was starting to feel tired, no energy, nit well at all. I spoke to the pharmacist at our surgery who arranged a blood test earlier than planned. The results showed that mam's sodium levels had dropped like a stone. She has been off it about 10 days now and is doing much better. Another blood next week to check sodium levels.
