Damage to ureters anyone? 4 days post op.
Hi. I'm now 4 days post op. Doc told me he used a lot of heat around my ureters to free them from dense adhesions. He mentioned a possible complication of ureteral necrosis which he said can rarely occur "several days or more" after surgery. My question is anyone here have damage to their ureters/bladder

Wonky Limbs?
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with leg length discrepancy (LLD). My physiotherapist has given me a heel in my shoe in order to level my shorter leg out. Now I know this is all good but I'm not sure the problem is LLD. I noticed that the right side of my body is longer than the left in my arms, trunk

Hello, I had a laparoscopy yesterday to check for endometriosis. My doctor did find at least a small amount of endo which he was able to remove (and also removed a couple very small ovarian cysts)... I haven't yet had a chance to speak with my doctor directly since i have been sleeping so much but when

Dulera
It is so frustrating to work with DRs when you have a lung disease. I was told that IF I have COPD, it's probably mild, but Dr thinks it's now asthma. Switched my meds again, this time to Dulera. Still do not feel any benefits. Does anyone else here use Dulera? And if so, do you suffer side effects

Sun Protection for facial scars
Hi Can anyone recommend a sunblock for a 4 year old with very new facial chickenpox scarring (the scars are 2 weeks old)? Our GP recommended a sun hat and we are on holiday in Italy next week. I want to ensure the scars are not made worse by sun exposure but have been unable to find a complete sun block

FDA Reports Serious Adverse Events With Lariat Used for LAA Closure
This one is scary. "The US Food and Drug Administration issued a safety communication to providers and patients regarding 45 patient deaths and other adverse events associated with SentreHEART devices used for left-atrial-appendage (LAA) closure, including its Lariat suture delivery device[1]." http

Scar tissue...
Hello everyone, Apologies for the potentially slightly irrelevant post but I'm after some advice. I have suffered from some chronic pain in my right foot following an ankle injury. Various investigations suggested it was all down to ligament damage but it was then apparent that the swelling was actually

Health Check: when are we most likely to catch viral diseases?
In addition to the flu, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (
SARS
) , Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), Ebola, measles chicken pox and HIV also get specific mention. Neil Photo: Gossamer spiders catching a ride on the breeze to spread themselves to new pastures.

White scar like marks
I've had white scar like marks on my arm for as long as I can remember. I thought they were scars, but l've more now only a few. But they look worse since I got a tan to hide my paleness. I read a blog that said that they were a symptom of b12 d, which is a shock to me. Has anyone else got them? What

Anyone with a relative with CLL or SLL?
Bit of a dark question. Those of us with Hashi's - or "borderline Hashi's" as my GP likes to call it - have chronic lymphocytic thyroditis, right? And there is an association, not huge, with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. My brother has chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Both of our ailments are probably genetic

Abortion
Hi I'm booked in for my consultation next week and have been phoning for a cancellation everyday since to bring it forward. I am nervous but it's the right thing, I'm estimated a 8/9 weeks at the moment so will probably be around 10 weeks for the procedure- is it more likely to be a surgical? I will

Soya in self tan
Unless I want to spend summer in trousers I am going to have to find a gluten free vegan self tan, which is about as niche a product as you can get. I have finally managed to find one or two, but they have soya oil in them. I know eating soya is bad for the thyroid, but is soya oil on the skin bad

I should be on display at Ripley's Believe it or Not....
I had surgery last year to diagnose and remove endo, and had my right tube and ovary removed at the same time. I still had bad pains after the surgery, it felt like nothing was done. So I just had another surgery on April 15th 2015. I had a complete hysterectomy and removal of the left fallopian tube

Too much Alivecor
I have thought long and hard before posting this as it will probably cause offence in some quarters. I don't have an Alivecor. I would need to update either my iPad or my mobile phone to get it and I am not sure that I want one in any case. One of the caveats of this forum is that we don't get into

Home iv's
Hi Everyone, well after several 'problems' since December (2 exacerbations and 1 virus) my doctor at Papworth decided I needed iv's. It was agreed that I could do them at home as there is a very easy way of administering them which does not involve syringes with needles. I went on Wednesday to spend

I had an abortion
4 years ago when I was 21 I had an abortion. I have never really spoke about it or thought that it had effected me because I don`t want children I never have wanted them. When I found out I was pregnant it was to my ex boyfriend and that wasn`t a great situation. I originally wanted to keep it because
