New triple COVID mutation found in India.
While the challenges of double mutation coronavirus variant are yet to subside, another new lineage of
SARs
-COV-2 has been traced in West Bengal. Scientifically termed as B.1.618, the proportions of this new variant has been growing significantly in West Bengal, as per experts.

Coronavirus variant B16172: could it block the UK’s path out of lockdown?
The rapid increase in the proportion of
SARS
-CoV-2 sequences in England that are B16172 seem to indicate that its transmissibility exceeds even that of the B117 variant (the so-called Kent variant), which kept the UK in lockdown over the winter.

Autoimmune
Do you think having an autoimmune condition(hashimotos) slows down the recovery of an infection? I’ve had an infected toe I did a 2 week course of antibiotics and now have to do another week course it’s just not healing as quickly as it should.

Laparoscopy-reopened c - section scar
Had my laparoscopy, excision, cysctcopy and hysterocopy just over a week ago. My scars from the laparoscopy are healing fine but during the surgery they had to reopen about 3/4s of my c-section scar. It is absolute agony still. I'm in so much pain and feel so rubbish and weak. I can barely walk it's

Age-related muscle loss and walking abilities predict outcomes after lung cancer surgery.
Lung cancer is a major global cause of mortality, reportedly accounting for 1.7 million deaths each year. The most common form of lung cancer is non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and early-stage NSCLCs can often be surgically resected. Unfortunately, some patients still experience poor outcomes after

Stelara
I suffer from intermittent, life-threatenimg inflammatory Behcet's and will be starting Stelar within the next month following my secondary COVID vaccination. My rheumatologist and gatroenterologist recommended it because it target 2 sources of inflammation. Anyone else on Stelara?

COVID Death Discovery: Israelis Discover Role of Vitamin D Deficiency
Previous studies on the association between vitamin D levels and
SARS
-CoV-2 infection yielded mixed results because vitamin D levels were measured only after patients were already sick.

Treatment of Highly Drug-Resistant Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
A three-drug regimen for treating drug-resistant TB strains cured 90% of patients and cut down treatment period from about 20 months to six months, a conference heard. According to the 2020 WHO global report on TB, 206,030 people in 2019 had a severe form of TB called multidrug- or rifampicin-resistant

Antiviral Response: Eosinophils Active in Immediate Defense During Influenza A Infection.
This research could have implications in understanding
SARS
-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infection in asthmatic patients. The Le Bonheur/UTHSC study found that eosinophils immunomodulate airway epithelial cells during IAV infection, helping to neutralize the virus and protect the airway.

SARS-CoV-2 mutations can complicate immune surveillance of human T-killer cells.
The body’s immune response plays a crucial role in the course of a
SARS
-CoV-2 infection. In addition to antibodies, the so-called T-killer cells, are also responsible for detecting viruses in the body and eliminating them.
