I went off ADT 9 months ago after 6 months of Elegard depot treatment following prostate radiation. I know that many of the side effects of ADT can persist months and even years after stopping Elegard (Lupron). But I seem to have developed new symptoms (breast sensitivity and sciatica) 6 months after

Re: Weight lifting for ADT fat gain and weight gain
A huge thank you 🙏🏻 to everybody who posted comments for my son about lifting weights for weight gain/fat accumulation while on ADT . I sent them on and he did read them, and he called and told me that he was going to go that route and possibly higher a personal trainer too! Despite hiking just about

Return of Armpit Odor - Yikes!!!
For almost two years, I (and others! 😃) have noticed the absence of male armpit odor. Attributable to full ADT (for metastatic PCa) and suppression of testosterone. (I'm on Triplet Therapy.) This morning I was surprised to notice odor for the first time since diagnosis. Due shortly for blood panel including

First test results after adding T3 - I’m confused!
Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your help with my latest results and welcome ideas for suggested next steps. Just a reminder, I currently self-treat. In October I posted the following results (Randox) whilst on 62.5mcg of Levo (Eutirox): TSH 1.44 (0.35-5.5) FT4 18.2 (11.9-21.6) FT3 3.96 (3.1

Estrogen vs ADT?
I've read 5 recent papers that discuss the use of estrogen as an alternative treatment to ADT (Lupron, etc.). The new data looks very favorable. A bit of history. Huggins discovered this effect around 1941-44, and he found that high doses of estrogen (estradiol) efficiently castrated men, which

DEXA scan result Poor. What to do about T3? Endocrinologist unhappy with suppressed TSH even before DEXA. How do I advocate for myself now?!
Afternoon All, I’ve just received a letter from my Second Opinion Endocrinologist with the results of my first ever DEXA scan. She is not happy. T Scores (no idea what any of this means, btw!): -1.6 L spine, -0.4 total hip, -0.9 NOF A few months back I was told by Endocrinologist One to reduce my

Actinic keratosis & Lung cancer
Hi, Dad is in 5th week of taking Erlotinib and corresponding face rash appears to be under control with prescribed cream / antibiotics. Also good to see that his cough has reduced in frequency by around 90% and no increase in fatigue. My question is- dad has actinic keratosis ( for around 25 years +

Age and timing for Triplet therapy?

coming off gnhr analogue injections
I’ve been on gnhr analogue injections for endo and adeno for a year and they relieved all my symptoms. My consultant has now taken me off them as they started wearing off after 3 weeks and he wanted to “see how I got on without them” (which is a whole different matter and I’m quite angry about). I’m

Hi. I have been on Duluxotine for about 5 months now and have not felt any benefits re: pain. It has been making me wake up.in the night and more tired. I had a cold turkey over Christmas as I couldn't get my meds and had to go back on them after 5 days as I was still rattling. I take Pregablin as well

perineural Invasion
My prostate biopsy has discovered perineural invasion (cancer along nerves) in 4 out of 6 sites with Gleason Score 9 in half of my prostate. This is associated with a significantly worse prognosis for survival. What are experiences of other men with this diagnosis? I am 84, in good health, and preparing

Statin use and mortality risk in men on ADT.
New ADT study from Hong Kong (1). "A total of 4920 patients were included, consisting of 2578 statin users and 2342 non-users (mean age 76.1 ± 8.2 years). Over a mean follow-up period of 4.2 ± 3.3 years, it was observed that statin users had significantly lower risks of both PCa-related mortality

New Mama
Hi all, I'm new to the whole pregnancy world! I've been trying for a baby for over 7 years (was with an abusive partner at the time) but after being with my new partner for a few months I'm now expecting! The thing I want to ask is going to sound weird and no one seems to know what I mean or say that

Failed RP & SRT; Negative PSMA PET
Greetings. I had a radical prostatectomy that failed and then salvage radiation therapy that appears to have failed as well. A recent PSMA PET scan showed no signs of recurrent prostate cancer or metastases. By way of background: NOV 2010 - Dx at age 52; positive DRE, Gleason 3+3, PSA 5.0; prostate

My decision on Radiotherapy -v- Prostatectomy
I hope this story might be useful to others. I'm based in the UK and had a PSA of 12.7 from a test in June 2023. That led to an MRI in August with a PI-RADS of 5 with irregularity on the front of the prostate. I eventually had a biopsy at the end of September after 3 cancellations (this was through the

PSA Risen in Last 6 months
Have been on here a week ago, explaining that my husband (who was diagnosed 10years ago) has now been diagnosed with Gastroporesis, so not eating much due to constant nausea and vomiting. We are due to see his Urologist in 2 weeks time, so had the dreaded PSA blood test. It had been almost undetectable

After bicalutimide and a high testosterone level is pre treatment T just guess work?
Just turning to fellow travellers on our various journeys for some input/advice/ thoughts as I make a decision on how far to push to the SOC for my high risk G9, given my oncologist is saying 15 months adjuvant (I am nervous of anything less than 18 months) is enough given my co morbidities, age at 73
