Have been on here a week ago, explaining that my husband (who was diagnosed 10years ago) has now been diagnosed with Gastroporesis, so not eating much due to constant nausea and vomiting.
We are due to see his Urologist in 2 weeks time, so had the dreaded PSA blood test. It had been almost undetectable on ADT for 10 years, but 6 months had risen to 8.0. Now 6 months later it is 89.0!
I am shocked by this sudden rise in 6 months. What could have caused this, and what is our next step in order to lower PSA?
I am so worried about my husband and would welcome any suggestion please.
Decapeptyl is no longer effective, so if you stop Erleada the PSA value will rise a lot in six months. He could try Darolutamide which may cause fewer side effects.
I realize and know your concerns. Facing the unknown is the difficult part of this journey. I also realize you want answer’s now but all anyone of us can offer is best guesses without any real scientific information.
Most probably after all this time it is probably reasonable to surmise from the rising PSA that the cancer has probably had a recurrence.
Your are doing the correct thing. Let your MO do his work and based on tests, etc decide on a pathway forward. This is a difficult time for both of you in the discovery process but grasping a hypotheticals while probably only increase your anxiety level.
I would def ask about Pluvicto, they’re fine tuning the dosage n it works in half the patients now n hopefully improves w the adjustment. Also look up nih and pub med article on ivermectin being repurposed and showing promise in allowing castrate resistant cells to become sensitive once again, chemo can also possibly do this but at a severely harsher rate. Your mo probably will not mention ivermectin as my didn’t but is totally on board now that my results are good. So you’ll have to do the research yourself as I did n took me 2️⃣ or 3️⃣ weeks to find the best solution but was able to do so. Here is one of about 19 articles on it and I would just research it incessantly n it all will probably start to make sense n if the psa goes down while on the ivm and would add cbd oil as well, you will be one happy camper…. Good luck n God bless
Thank you so much Nfler. I really appreciate the info re Ivermectin. Will read up on this. Never sure what CBD Oil to buy.
My husband is really poorly with gastroporesis as well, so we never know what is cancer related and what is digestion related. He is always so tired, and has pain in his legs. With the huge rise in PSA over a short period, which is so unusual for him, we really need all the help we can get. So once again - thank you!
You’re very welcome. I use Lazarus cbd out of Oregon, they seem to be most reputable n affordable. They offer huge discounts (60%) for lower income and I believe oncology patients as well. I forgot to post the article earlier but here it is now and lmk if you have any questions regarding articles as I have plenty that I’ve found and you can read up on my bio and or posts… Good luck
