NAFLD vs ARLD prognosis & ELF Score of 10.2 AST:ALT Ratio of 0.7
Hello all. I am absolutely terrified at the moment. I had a routine LFT carried out for insurance purposes & it came back as abnormal. I contacted my GP who carried out their own LFT. My total bilirubin was found to be 42 umol/L & my ALT 72 iu/L. My GP ordered more tests & I have just had the results

How worried should I be?
My little grandson and granddaughter have both tested positive this afternoon for covid. I have been with them today. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis 2 years ago to this month. I was in hospital for 6 weeks and nearly died. I haven't drank alcohol since then. Covid is going around our area like wildfire

Hope you've had a good Xmas x I feel like I am in limbo. I'm still under the liver team and last time I saw the consultant he said that I may not have to have a transplant. I'm confused last year I was told that without a transplant I wouldn't be here this Xmas but I am. At the same time I told about

Vitamin D in winter months
Vitamin D2 is ingested from a healthy balanced diet and can be derived from everyday foods such as: Egg yolks and fatty fish like; trout, mackerel, salmon or tuna, as well as cod liver oil, or fortified milk, juices and cereals. Vitamin D3 however, is most efficiently produced when our skin is exposed

When do AST/ALT ratios matter?
I received two blood tests this year that display my ALT as 59 and AST as 31, with a ratio of approx 0.5. Do these values hold significance, given my ALT is only slightly out of the normal ceiling? From what I have read, this is indicative of viral hepatitis. The thing is, my doctor didn't recommend

Worried and
Hello all. I am wondering what are criteria for liver transplant? I keep ask my doctor if I need this he keeps saying no. He told my damage of liver out of 10 is 8.5 so I think its big. Also he informed me that 25% of people with my disease could have reverse of damage and MAYBE I HAVE THAT LUCK THAT

Liver Nurse
I have recently been diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver, I have not been given the results of my Fribroscan, blood test, Colonoscopy etc. I have contacted the hospital and the consultant who carried out the above procedures. Heard nothing back as yet. My question is are we supposed to have a liver

Is this the end ?
My Dad has decompensated cirrhosis due to alcohol abuse. He stopped drinking 8 months ago and his blood tests improved considerably since then. His MELD score dropped from 21 to 18. I thought this is good news however, 2 days ago he started vomiting a yellowish- orangish liquid ( not sure if it was

My 62 year old daddy on a ventilator from covid complications and lung scarring.
My dad has been fighting covid pneumonia for almost 4 weeks now. He has been on the ventilator for 15 days requiring 90-100% with very fast breaths(BiLevel). He is able to keep his stats in the 90s right now. The doctors say he now has lung scarring which can't be corrected. He is on dialysis now as

Venetoclax and high total bilirubin?
Hello, I have been reading your posts for the last several months and the time has come to me to write a post as well. My father, 64 years old, has been diagnosed with Cll/Sll. It all started accidentally a year ago after blood test which showed his Hgb level was low: 10,4 and WBC was high. At first

Firboscan result
Looking for some advice, I got sent for a fibroscan as I have an enlarged spleen and have been drinking heavily so they thought it was cirrhosis, I was told I'd get the results through the post but before I left I looked at the screen and it said my median Kpa was 8.5 I already have a diagnosis for NAFLD

Spirinolactone question
I am on the liver transplant waiting list (6m and counting.) Last year I was put on spirinolactone to deal with ascites, which it has done very efficiently, however, I have just had a call from the specialist's secretary asking me to stop taking it... I will keep an eye on my weight and any swelling
