Fibroscan request 4 years after transplant

Good Morning

My husband had a liver transplant in 2017 due to NASH cirrhosis. He recently had a diagnosis of asbestosis and emphysema. He is a type 2 diabetic and this seems to be causing him problems and is out of control. He recently had an ultrasound scan of his liver which seems to be causing some issues. We have just had an apointment through the post for a Fibroscan - he has never had one of these before - does it indicate they think there is a problem?

Thank you all in advance

Hi Kim

A Fibroscan is just like an ultrasound scan. It takes around 3 to 5 minutes usually and checks elasticity of the liver. It is just another image for the doctors to review. It can check for fat, fibrosis etc.
