Cirrhosis fully reversed.
It's been quite a while since I last posted. It's been 3 years since I was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and and it's 6 months now since the very doctors who diagnosed me with cirrhosis confirmed that it is fully recovered and ran fibroscan twice to confirm that indeed it is gone. Only one thing now

LDH Question
My typical quarterly checkup with my CLL doctor follows a certain routine - I have the blood draw and then, as soon as CBC results are available, I see the doctor or his nurse practitioner. And then, long after I've left the office, the other blood results are available, including LDH. So, in other

blood tests vs ultra sounds
I am so confused! I have been diagnosed with cirrhosis after a stay in hospital with ascites. What do they pay more attention to the scans or the blood work? It’s so confusing. They say at scans they are for only surveillance of cancerous lesions but can they tell if the cirrhosis has gotten worse even

Liver and Digestion
How has your liver disease affected your digestive system? My digestion has been unpredictable for years, sometimes constipation and sometimes diarrhea (sorry TMI). Dr always said it was IBS since nothing was seen on colonoscopies etc. I’m wondering if my digestive issues have been from my liver all

Recompensated Liver. Safe to travel.
I had my telephone consultation yesterday with my liver nurse and had some reassuring news. I asked her if I was safe to travel abroad and she said that my liver had recompensated and was functioning normal and that my bloods and scans are normal range and they have no features of concern. It will be

Creatinine and LDH
I have hashimoto's and I have been seeing a functional medicine doctor because my endocrinologist was not helping. He recently ran a bunch of labs. Both my creatinine and LDH were lab low. Does anyone know what that would mean and if is connected with my thyroid in any way?

Blood Test for vits (and thyroid)
Hello all. Following advice from SlowDragon, got GP to agree to Vit testing as T3 low and as SlowDragon though they would, they drew blood for Thyroid levels , too! Must say here, too, after GPS lowered my Levo, because I had too many hypo symptoms return, I upped the dose from 175 to 200 as on 200

Liver Transplant - Lest we forget
When a person embarks on a liver journey, there are many people involved in their treatment over possibly many years. There are a multitude of medical professionals who become involved. These may range from the gastroenterologist who in turn refers their patient to a hepatologist. All the imagery people

Elevated ELF but 'normal' Fibroscan pressure - how?
Hi All: I'm a 50-something male with a fatty liver. Recently I was given an ELF test and it returned a result at the lowest end of the 'severe fibrosis' range. A follow-up Fibroscan gave a reading in the upper normal range for liver stiffness. How can the disparity be explained? Do I give more credence

In Shock!
Hi all Around a year ago I was diagnosed, via a fibroscan with a score of 20, as my gastro consultant said, borderline cirrhosis. I’ve never been happy with the lack of anything I have received from him so I pushed for a referral to Kings College. I ended up there yesterday and they did a second

Fibroscan results
Hi, My husband’s fibroscan came back with a KPA of 21.5 and the hepetologist has said he has significant bridging fibrosis - she actually said that he doesn’t have cirrhosis (said multiple times) and that at this stage he can still reverse it if he loses weight? What confuses me is that everywhere

Pharmacist denied medication
Hesitant to post this. Opinions run strong on subject. My regular (+1yr) pharmacist called to tell me she was denying my regular pain med fill due to increased usage of thc. Shocked. She advised me to find another pharmacy that sells both THC and pain medication (doesn’t exist) and talk to my doctor.
