So,
I am having a bit of a spin out on this... viral hepatitis questions!
ALT on the 10th May was 171. GGT was 120. I had an operation on 5th May (previous post had medication details).
15th May until 1st June - nausea, night sweats, lack of appetite bit of itching on back and thigh (Dr said it was a sweat rash as I was laid up at home), fatigue and malaise. I had dry mouth and some ammonia breath. Had a bad tummy, but only yesterday. Fine today.
From the 10th May - 3 weeks, to the day, later my ALT is 40. AST is 20. Everything else in Bilirubin is very low. GGT was 120, now 0. Protein CRP back to 0 from 15, too.
I now feel completely fine, but I get the odd ache in my back, feels like the right hand side. It is a dull ache and only really when I am sitting down. Other than the worry, obviously.
Questions from me - I didn't have really high risk exposure but still an exposure on 3rd March. Certainly a 'potential route' according to Dr but highly unlikely. The internet is not a kind place for research - would I expect an ALT of above 40 in acute hep? Or even above 171?
If I were to get jaundice, when would this start? I have seen a fair bit about it starting now the symptoms have subsided... but if my bilirubin levels were normal 3 days ago how does this happen?
I am white, 41. British. Non-illegal drug user - FYI
I am not doing well in my mind, to be honest. I seem to follow the classic 60-90 days for symptoms to start and I have had most of them to some degree - but they are so generic. I was also hugely, hugely anxious although this has diminished too.
Thank you, all advice well received btw I have tested for A,B and C on Friday - results should be a week for those who will say simply 'get tested'.
