Private fibroscan?

Hi. I posted last week, the surgeon performing my laprascopic gallbladder surgery has seen fibrotic changes in my liver about 4 weeks ago. My most recent LFT'S (in April) were largely normal, bilirubin raised slightly (consistently for years) alongside slightly low platelets and slightly raised mean platelet volume, if that's relevant. My Mum passed from PBC 10 years ago, so obviously I'm really worried.

I've just got my Hepatology appointment through, and it's 6 months away. Which feels like a really long time.

I'm considering paying for a private fibroscan. Is that a good idea? Will it give me answers or more anxiety? I'm having more bloods done in the new year.
