Pain relief
Hi ladies Do any of you take slow release morphine capsules? I’ve been prescribed these but just feel reluctant to take them as I hate side effects although I take codeine (cocodamol) and occasionally ocycodone for worse pain Just wondering if the slow release ones will be more effective...I want to

Rheumy telephone appointment earlier
As most of you know I’ve been struggling despite the steroid injections into the knees and starting Sulfasalazine. I had my follow up with my rheumatologist earlier this afternoon and the upshot is that the steroid injections lasted all of three weeks. The Sulfasalazine she was hoping would have had

Medication and general care concerns
Hello to all. I was diagnosed with having a degenerative disease of my lumbar spine back in July 2011. Which has been life changing. When I say I have had all treatments I really have. I have been through and exhausted the pain clinics on two occasions. I have had extensive Physiotherapy, Accupunture

Flare
I think I am having a flare up, am so tired all the time and got a lot off pain in my right shoulder! I take codeine for pain relief. I normally take 2 tablets in the morning 30mg each and that normally does me the whole of the day. But am having to take nearly the maximum to have no pain. I think everything

Starting on thyroxine tomorrow
I had my tft bloods done on Friday and on Monday morning (very early) had a text to contact my GP with ref to them. I had a telephone appointment with her and she said that my tsh was 14.9, my previous level in November was 9.78, so she was prescribing me 25 mg thyroxine to start on and would like retests

Graves
I was diagnosed in November with Graves’ disease, on Carbimazole and doing ok. Have just been told that this is not a long term drug and will have to think about RAI as the way going forward. Anyone been through the same situation?

Back pain - anyone got anything similar?
Ok, so here’s the story... 23rd June - woke up with pain in my left SI joint. Could literally pinpoint it to that spot. I’ve had a sore back before, but it was just muscle pain from overuse and was never over the SI joint. Standing and walking were both painful, and the pain disappeared when I sat or

Reintroduction of gluten into my diet and possible iodine deficiency
Hi everyone, Following on from my post about 4 months ago and suggestions made in reply by SlowDragon and Greygoose, I reintroduced gluten into my diet as an experiment after more than two years of being gluten-free. The plan was to see if I felt any different and if my antibodies would go up again -

Hyper + Neutropenia
The plan now seems to be to keep me off carbimazole to avoid neutropenia, and have
radioactive
iodine
. The problem is that my appointment is 2 months away! And I’m not really willing to let my FT3/FT4 continue to climb more than they already have.
