After my last period I have stopped taking the pill (I’ve been taking it for 11 years) as me and my partner are trying for a baby. My period is meant to be due 9th August, I’ve heard it’s likely to be extremely painful and quite heavy? Has anyone else experienced this? Will I still be able to take my normal painkillers? Codeine etc.
Hope you are all well and keeping safe x

Hi everyone’s periods are different post pill and you might find it doesn’t start for a while because your body takes a while to ovulate properly. My first few periods post pill were ok. Hopefully yours will be too! They most likely will be heavier than a pill period, because pill periods are not real periods they are just breakthrough bleeds. I would speak to your dr to ask what medicine you can take whilst ttc as I know some medicines can affect ovulation and implantation. I hope your first period is ok, best of luck on your journey to parenthood 😊
