Hi! I’ve been living with MDD and anxiety for as long as I can remember. I recently had a huge setback about 6 months ago. effects of ECT
It was traumatic for my partner and parents but it did work alongside the
psychotherapy
& development of habits such as meditation. Our local health service no longer offers ECT at all, Probably a cost saving.

Social Phobia and AA Meetings?
I quit drinking a little over 3 months ago. I used alcohol to deal with my social isolation, severe SA, and my OCD. Over time, alcohol ended up making everything much worse. So I decided to quit drinking, but I have a hard time being a part of the meetings or the AA community. I’m terrified to turn

I'm being my own health detective, but need help!
Hello, first-time poster here, and worried, so please be gentle...! 😔 I'm a woman approaching 50 😬 and have had so many crappy - but not serious - things happening. Aches, pains, fatigue, lethargy, brain fog, insomnia, blah blah blah. All part of the aging process, I figured. Not great, and definitely

Depersonalization/derealization
I was a very anxious and nervous person growing up. And the emotional neglect growing up didn't help. I've had chronic depersonalization since age 14 which was decades ago. Has anyone had it for a long time 24/7? Therapists don't seem to understand that it's not always from a traumatic event. That's

Covid fear
my ocd is about Covid. I’ve had all vaccines and am 65. I have had anxiety since the beginning of the pandemic. I’m afraid my anxiety and insomnia put me at a greater risk for infection. And any positive stories would by helpful! I have a husband and 2 adult children that I need to love and enjoy.

OCD therapy
Hello everyone. Has anyone tried EMDR for their OCD? I know ERP is usually the first line of treatment but my therapist only offers the former. I’m just wondering if anyone has tried it and what the results were. Thanks for any help or advice. Eddie

Severe Anxiety & Palpitations, can anybody relate?
My name is Neil, and i’m 48 years of age, and currently bedridden with a severe case of anxiety. Up until 2019, I was thoroughly enjoying life, a great job in support work, regular trips out, nature walks, breaks away, it couldn’t be better, then it all changed. Me and my partner were taking a drive

Support Group or something
I’m looking for a support group or something like that near Ravena, NY. If there aren’t any near there then any recommendations for Therapists would be much appreciated. I’m new to this area and my mental health hasn’t improved in the, almost, year I’ve been here. Getting through day to day life is

Getting rougher the longer it lasts
I have anxiety. It goes into periods of escalation that last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. It is all day and all night. Sometimes I can reign it in enough to have a little peace. The longer it lasts the worse I get. Nausea, fatigue, difficulty sleeping and horrible sweating. I am so

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in treating a wide range of health disorders
I started thinking maybe CBT could actually help treat physical illnesses. Maybe I equate CBT with Denial. But I am taking a shot to see if CBT can alter my reality. I found this:

Online therapy recommendations
I live in a rural area w no real access to therapists, and my depression and anxiety are a bit out of control lately and I need someone professional to talk to. I don't have a lot of $$ to spend, but if it's worth it, I'll try online therapy. Has anyone tried it? What companies have you used and liked

Need help finding a therapist to help us with our adult son with ADHD - Inattentive Type.
Our son was diagnosed a couple of years ago and continues to struggle. Since he is an adult, we have pretty much been on the sidelines, but we feel we could be doing something to help. We need professional help in determining the best course of action.

I need some clarity on this if anyone has faced it
Trigger Warning: related to SA I have had a problem with daydreaming for as long as I remember. It hampers every task I do And causes me a lot of guilt and mental conflict and stress. But most of my daydreams have a similar theme getting into a good living relationship. Most of my personal relationships
