Can’t Wait to be This Happy Again
I have so much determination now. My OCD, panic disorder, and hypochondria is NOT going to get the best of me. I’m going to get better, and live a happy life. Though it’ll be hard, I am so extremely motivated. EMDR therapy, Exposure and Response therapy, and meditation are just a few steps I’m going

Agoraphobia on/off for 21 years
I've been spiralling in and out of agoraphobia, panic attacks and anxiety for close to 21 years after one awful day of smoking cannabis the first time. I assume I must've had other trauma which culminated in this panic episode leading to a total emotional change. I've since done emdr, cbt, talk therapy

Hey all! I started with a new therapist today and she wants to try EMDR therapy with me... I am not familiar with this yet and have only utilized CBT before... Anyone have experience?

There is hope
I joined this site a year and a half ago as I had totally unraveled . I was having such severe anxiety I could barely leave my house. I couldn’t watch tv , read, listen to music as it all gave me such intense and overwhelming anxiety. I was barely able to work, I stayed home in bed most of the time.

Healthy Anxiety - Fear of having a seizure
Hello! I'm a 26 year old who has never had a seizure in my life. My brother had one, one time due to alcohol withdrawal and ever since then I've been afraid I'm going to have a seizure. I don't drink or do drugs, I eat healthy, but I've had anxiety since I can remember. Always related to health phobias

Another day
I started out today feeling like crying. It is my 6th day in a row of migraines. It's been months since I've had this many on a row. I usually get depressed by the second day. The only thing keeping my sanity together is therapy and these online support groups. Yesterday I was starting to feel a little

Childhood trauma/chronic stress - root cause?
Stress in itself is a killer in every way possible, however I am pretty certain that the trauma I went through as a kid has caused the development of Hashimoto's. Even reading books like 'body keeps the score' they mention how people who experience extreme trauma as a child are more likely to develop

Friday night exhaustion - anybody else
New here! Anybody on Friday night just exhausted and lose it? My daughter, age 11 had SI in August - I had to hospitalize her - it was horrifying. Preliminary diagnosis was bipolar, subsequent diagnoses included ADHD inattentive along with anxiety and depression. We are starting Ritalin on Sunday

PTSD and EMDR healing
Yesterday was the perfect fall day. It was sunny and warm. The leaves on the trees are changing colors and it was just beautiful outside. I came home from a particularly difficult, but very healing therapy session with my therapist. I've been doing EMDR for the last 3 weeks for PTSD. If you have ever

Has anyone tried EMDR???
I heard about this technique and therapy online. It was started in 1987 and has now grown into most areas including my own. I guess it helps with dealing with traumatic events in ones life by using the equivalent of REM sleep while your awake. A therapist moves their finger side to side and you follow

Starting to lose hope.....
after living with anxiety for 8 years. I know that is just a drop in the bucket for some of you. There was a period of about 3 years after CBT that I felt at peace with little to no anxiety. In the last year it has come back with a vengeance. How? Why? My GAD seems to have morphed into health anxiety

Is EMDR supposed to induce panic attacks?
I recently started EMDR with my therapist and my very first session I was a hair away from full blown attack. By the end I was shaking couldn't sit still and crying. I thought the whole point of EMDR was to help get rid of these attacks. I'm so glad I was with my therapist when that happened. She helped

An update
I ended up quitting my job that very first day. the symptoms were too great for me to handle but I made it through almost half a day. I was, and still am, extremely discouraged with myself but I will continue trying to find a job that will be better suited for me and my situation.. I've been pushing
