PSA reduction after Estrogen Patch Therapy
Here's a revised plot of
PSA
reduction due to castration from Estrogen Patch therapy. The previous version had the wrong time scale. That has been corrected in this version. The total time is 3 months, after which the
PSA
and testosterone both flatten out versus time.

PSMA PET Scan Frequency?
My husband’s last and only PSMA PET scan was 1.5 years ago showing 6 mets in small bones after
PSA
consistently rose a year after radiation. The standard ADT treatment was prescribed and it’s working. (His
PSA
is .04 now, thank God).

My
PSA
and testosterone dropped precipitously after only one month. But the side effects are brutal. Real serious fatigue.

Oncologist visit today
We are going to monitor
PSA
every 6 weeks to watch for doubling time. Next meds may be abiraterone and prednisone, but that still remains to be determined.

Just finished my second Pluvicto round.
Increase
PSA
can be the result of dying cancer cells, right SUV numbers in the 20s and 30s, so that would make sense, right?

PSA dropping and % free ratio rising - why?
But I thought I might do another
PSA
test in the meantime but this time add the Free
psa
% ratio to the mix (we didn't do that in early Dec) So then my latest
PSA
test came back 4.74 and 12.7% free
psa
ratio. My original
PSA
in July was 8.1 and 7% free
psa
ratio ....

Ct scan of abdomen and pelvis and full body bone scan?
My question is this necessary since my
PSA
has been undetectable since the radiation treatment? Urologist says this is standard of care.... Thank you for any input. I appreciate it. John

Update May 15, 2024
Does anyone have ideas why
PSA
would drop so drastically? Wishing all others good health too. UPDATE: April 5, 2024 Yesterday was very disappointing as my husbands
PSA
increased again by 183 points, last month his
PSA
was 1546 and now it is 1730. All his other CBC results were good.

Bone pain, what next?
For over 2 years my scans show no radiographic progression despite a rising
PSA
, now at 43. However I am now experiencing periodic bone pain in the left hip area, mainly when I climb stairs. Tolerable but a worrying development.

PSMA Scan to be scheduled - thank you Tall Allen
My latest
PSA
value is 0.51. The oncologist and his resident pulled up a study during our meeting that showed that, with a
PSA
of .5, a PSMA scan likely would show the location of the cancer cells 50% of the time.

Eligard and bicalutamide.
Anxious to begin sustained exercise, essential for osteoporosis, though still recovering from breakage. 2022 to 2024
PSA
remains at 0.01. Good luck.
