Use hormone therapy or not with Proton therapy
Hi All, Question, doctor is suggesting hormone
therapy
along with
proton
therapy
(28 treatments of radiation) my gleason score went from 3+3 to 4+3 last year and psa doubled from 10 to 20. I tried to get in to this study to determine the genetics of tumor but they said tumor sample was bad.

WHAT ARE THE CURRENT EFFECTIVE SALVAGE TREATMENTS IN CASE OF A REOCCURRENCE IF YOU HAVE HAD SBRT,IMRT, WITH PLACEMENT OF GOLD BARS?
It appears that if you had SBRT or like myself IMRT and you were given
gold markers
you cannot do any of the following
salvage treatments in case of a reoccurrence
:
Proton
therapy
, Hifu, Tulsa Pro , Etc. Is this true???? Again a significant fact left out before treatment...

my journey so far
Getting closer to
proton
therapy
. I have an MRI scheduled soon. Started the lupron shots on Aug. 22nd and had lab work done. PSA showed a drop to 1.44 from 4.25. Not sure what this means but sounds good to me. I have tried to change up my eating, focusing on eating fruits, veggies, nuts, ect.

Proton Therapy timeline question
For those who have had
proton
therapy
, what was your timeline? What period of time elapsed after you began ADT and had the simulation? And then, how long after that did the actual therapy begin?

treatment and insurance questions
To everyone's surprise the insurance company did approve
Proton
Therapy
- 2 of the radiologists I met with have nothing good to say about
Proton
Therapy
. The center that does
Proton
treatment here recently filed for bankruptcy and I'm pretty sure they are desperate for patients.

Possible SBRT on prostate and lymph nodes?
Or,
proton
therapy
w/ADT. (Already signed up for consult w/
proton
@UFPTI/Jax) I'm wondering why not advise SBRT? Can SBRT also be used prophylactically on lymph nodes? I'm trying to do the least harmful treatment with the greatest benefits.

My urologist is suggesting surgery or possibly surgery, radiation and hormone
therapy
. The radiologist says
proton
or IMTR radiation plus hormone treatment. I have appointment to talk to surgeon tomorrow. I am trying to decide on what option is best.

Erections and orgasm while in Orgovyx
I had
proton
beam radiation
therapy
, 26 sessions with boosting of the dominant lesion which I finished about two months ago. I haven't been able to have an erection or orgasm since about 3 weeks after I started the Orgovyx.

Maca Root Supplement
I finished
Proton
Therapy
for Gleason 9 Prostate cancer on December 2, 2022. This included six months of androgen deprivation therapy that ended December 15, 2022. Is there any danger to my prostate if I begin taking Maca Root supplement?

Specialty to start with?
I am 77 and if I do any treatments I would lean toward
proton
therapy
. I had an appointment with urologist at Penn Medicine, because my PCP suggested starting there. She recommended getting a biopsy. I can't have an MRI due to pacemaker.

Irritation at catheter entry points post ablation
I had my ablation 11 days ago with entry points in both groin areas and also epicardially through incision below breast bone. All healed well with hardly any bruising at all. However I'm experiencing intense irritation...itching.... from the entry points....driving me mad! I dealt with the chest one

Hayfever medication ahead of stimulation round-worried!
Hi all, Hoping someone can help me calm a little ahead of our next IVF round. My husband and I will be starting ICSI round 2 in a couple of weeks. We've avoided all unnecessary medication in the lead up but on Thursday night last week we were both really suffering with hayfever and took half a piriton
