British probiotic reaches lower gut, relieves symptoms
A British probiotic called Symprove appears to be able to reach the lower gut whereas others do not. A BBC 4 radio podcast at https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0006zvs aired an interview with a British neurologist Dr Raymond (?). His patients have experienced significant improvement in symptoms

Struggling to get a diagnosis?
I just thought I'd share my 18YO daughters experience here, you never know it may help someone else. I should make it very clear at the outset that I have no medical training and you should definitely check with your medical professional or do your own reading before taking this experience on board.

Can C/L and venlaxafine ( effexor/ SSNRI) possibly be the reason I experience some symptoms ?,?
I really need some advice. I think perhaps some of my symptoms may be caused by one or more of my medications. I received a DAT SCAN (showed loss of dopamine in the right and left side of my brain) in 2015 confirming that I have Parkinson's but because my progression seems to be faster than most ,

Corticosteroids and suppressed immunity
Hi all, I have to admit that once diagnosed with asthma and bronchiectasis there was only so much that I could take in before wanting to bury my head in the sand. Both conditions are life-changing and threatening and guaranteed to ruin my day if I encounter someone smoking, wearing anything scented

My specialist doesn’t have faith in
probiotics
. I would love to hear other opinions. Has anyone taken them? Is there anything else I could eat or drink that might help? Any suggestions gratefully received!

Vaginal bacteria
I have just read an interesting report discussing the possibility that ovarian cancer could be linked to vaginal bacteria. (www.bbc.co.uk/news/health) This is especially relevant to me, as anyone who has read my previous posts will see that I was plagued by an irritable bladder/urine infections. I consulted

There’s a whole world inside of you: a guide to microbiome research
Why do some of us benefit from pre and
probiotics
, while they can be ineffective or even dangerous for others? Why do some of us succumb to C difficile infections while on antibiotics (particularly in hospital) while others don't?
Why do medications work for some and not others?

Diagnosis help please - what next?
Over the last month she has been taking Vitamin D and a decent B complex supplement plus some
probiotics
such as Kefir and Biomel, but she doesn't report any difference in symptoms. She has been referred back to the GP, basically with a "there's nothing wrong with you" diagnosis.
