Is Interstitial Cystitis linked to Autoimmune thyroid disease?
I saw a urologist 3 weeks ago as I have been suffering with occasional bladder issues- pain, bloating, urgency, slight leaking & strong smelling urine since symptoms related to my thyroid. I also get a upset stomach when it happens and occasionally a temperature. It flares up for a week or so and then

The "Sally Painting Story"
For many people, the name Sally Painting may be unknown. But Sally was an inspiration for so many people. She was the first-ever liver transplant patient to later become a nurse. Hi, I haven't been here in a while but thought I would share my journey so far and have a quick moan 😉. I developed PVCs back in April, 4% load. Learned they were benign but was offered flecainide and atropolol if I wanted to try. That was a drug too many for me and I got cold feet. By this time I realised

8 months post ablations update
Hi all ending the year I just wanted to post a brief summary how things have developed since my ablation in April 2021. I think my recovery has followed a similar pattern as described by many others on this site. I have phased out meds approx. 6 months after surgery. I did not have any episodes since

Prognosis for compensated cirrhosis
I have cardiac cirrhosis from right sided heart failure. Tricuspid valve is regurgitating severely sending blood back to liver, congesting it to the point of cirrhosis. I have no liver symptoms. Found incidentally on CT scan. Anyway, I know that survival is 9-12 years for compensated cirrhosis at diagnosis

Cases of cryptogenic liver fibrosis
Was anyone here diagnosed with cryptogenic liver fibrosis? I have Gilbert's Syndrome. Sofar findings: heterogeneous echotexture on ultrasound, fibroscan 8,8 Kpa (but with IRQ/median 32% rather poor reliable as I found), INR 1,28 (but after 2 months it decreased to 1,13), Ldl slightly high 140, total

In A-fib again, again, again and again
In AF again, either daily or every other, 120 - 150 BPM, so sick of this fodder, gets me when I need to lie back and relax and get off to sleep, I wouldn't wish this torture on any of my worst enemies. Gets to a point where you just surrender to it and lie back and say 'OK I'm your biatch', then it

Cirrhosis and depression
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced extremely low mood with all the conditions associated with having cirrhosis. I am only 9 weeks sober and feel like I have hit a brick wall. My itching is unbearable, chronic fatigue and aches and pains all over. How have others managed to get through

My Butt Is Naked In The Wind
Hi Afibbers, Tough time for me at the moment, since 27/11 been having more or less daily AF episodes with BPM ranging from the slow 65-80 and the more uncomfortable up to 235 when it slipped into SVT first then downgraded into AF. I also had a VT caught on my Kardia. I had another echo and said

Cirrhosis over time.
Hi, I’ve recently joined having been diagnosed with cirrhosis back in March 2021. I’ve not had a drink since then, my health has improved significantly and I feel a whole lot better. My bloods are now normal and my recent endoscopy showed 2 small grade 1 varicies with no red risks. At my recent check

Diagnosed with hepatorenal syndrome
My dad was diagnosed with alcoholic decompensated cirrhosis in May 2021. He stopped drinking since he found out and all his blood tests improved almost to normal levels, bilirubin dropped from 16 to 5, however earlier this week when he got to the hospital to have the liquid drained from his abdomen
