My partner was diagnosed with cirrhosis in Dec and underwent a medical detox from alcohol. He was very poorly and remained in hospital for 3 weeks. Since then he has been eating well and not drinking. His bilirubin has come down from 256 to 60 and his blood platelets look good at 160. The doctors

Donating blood
Hello, I am new to this group, and I have a question. I’m scheduled to give blood in 2 days. I’ve never done this before and was wondering if it might exacerbate PVCs? Mine have been fairly active lately. I know drinking plenty of water is important before donating blood. Has anyone with arrhythmia given

Liver problems and INR
Hi Everybody, hope you all having a nice day. Maybe if you read some posts of me before I sometimes doubted my diagnose for Liver Cirrhoses. The diagnose was over 2 years ago, but still things are just not adding up for me. Yesterday I watched a video again, where they give 14 signs of liver cirrhosis

A little magnesium help please
I had an ICD fitted in 2018 because of runs of VT, I was told taking magnesium helps with pvc’s, I have been taking Solgar Magnesium Citrate for almost the 4 years now, but recently someone told me I should be taking Magnesium Taurate…..and I now I don’t know whether to switch, any help would be appreciated

PVCs - benign but ruddy hard work
I read often here that ectopic beats are benign and of no concern. Well, last week my hiatus hernia flared up and, swiftly following on, and as usual, so did my heart arrhythmias. So far no AF but oh my - “PVC”s galore. To me, these feel little different from AF - so very wearing and with the same chest

What is normal?
Hi, I was diagnosed with cirrhosis last month and I’ve received my first blood test results from the hospital. They say some are raised, some are normal and some improved but give no indication of what normal should be. Does anyone know what the optimum levels should be for ALT. ALP, AST, bilirubin,

Afib or palpitations?
Once in a while I get very irregular heartbeats after I go to bed at night. My Dr. said they are palpitations and not afib and did not occur during the 24 hour holter monitor, but I noticed a pattern as to when they occur: always after a very salty and probably MSG restaurant meal and a few drinks with

Normal scans, mostly normal blood tests. Can you still have HE?
I have had abnormal LFTs for 2.5 years (that I know of - no tests before). Normal ultrasounds x4, normal HIDA, normal CT scan, normal fibroscans x2 showing F0 and approx 240 CAP. An MRCP showed sludge when I was pregnant. I went and got my gallbladder out which showed chronic cholestasis but nothing

Hello everybody, had to go to A&E last night because I was having PVCS nearly every other beat, not causing chest pain but very uncomfortable and anxiety inducing. Bloods came back normal. I have a holter monitor coming on Tuesday, 72 hours and an echo coming up at the Brompton possibly an mri too. They

Ablation Date 28th May 2022
Hi all, Currently a difficult time, my heart is going nuts for the past two weeks. Had 140 BPM AF yesterday and in between all that LOADS of 'Unclassified' on Kardia which are groups of PACs and PVCs driving me nuts. Anyone had their symptoms worsen the longer you are on Apixaban? Currently on 200MG

Hypothyroidism is prevalent among adult women with chronic lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)
A very recent paper with a potentially important indicator of hypothyroidism. My conclusion is that chronic LUTS should automatically be given a full thyroid panel (unless already diagnosed hypothyroid). One third is a very large proportion. Also, need to consider the current treatment of those who
