I had an ICD fitted in 2018 because of runs of VT, I was told taking magnesium helps with pvc’s, I have been taking Solgar Magnesium Citrate for almost the 4 years now, but recently someone told me I should be taking Magnesium Taurate…..and I now I don’t know whether to switch, any help would be appreciated

Magnesium citrate is generally recommended to help with constipation. I prefer magnesium glycinate which is suggested has quite good bioavailability. Sorry, but I don't know about magnesium taurate.

Hello there!

There is an amazing doctor on youtube , Dr Sanjay Gupta talking on which magnesium he suggests 😊 very informative , have a look.

Also if you check his profile you 'll find further great videos on the topic.

Oh yes he is really excellent and so full of common sense. I read a lot of his tutorials and am often comforted by his knowledge of heart disease

Thank you for posting this Balazs. Very informative. I am taking the taurate form of magnesium as I have read it is best for suppressing ectopics. Looks like Dr. Gupta is OK with that. My concern was why it is so little known, and difficult to find. I order mine from Amazon.

That is a great question dicynth! I mean cardiologist I've talked to never emphasized the benefit of Magnesium and potassium as much as Dr. Gupta....seems the prefer to suggest medications as a solution.

In case you struggle to supply it from Amazon, I think iherb.com/ could be a good place to have a look as well!

I take a concoction called cardio defence ( Amazon), which fitted the criteria for other supplementsto take alongside magnesium which I was recommended by another member on here.I wasn't sure if the cardio defence was working until recently I ran out of them and my ectopics have been much much worse, so looks like they've been doing their job!

Hope this helps
