New to biologics - don't feel particularly well.
Evening all. Hope everyone is managing ok in this cold weather 🥶. So in the last 2 weeks I've had to take rescue doses for my adrenal insufficiency, had 2 emergency hydrocortisone injections (each one administered by work colleagues a week apart) as not caught early enough and generally felt off.

Prednisolone and osteopenia
Hi I had a Dex scan a few weeks ago and my bone density showed I have osteopenia, I was given calcium and vitamin D tablets to take twice a day. So would it help if I drank milk to help to augment this as I don't have milk normally but have yogurt. Thank you in advance for any replies. Peter.

Taper advice
I was diagnosed in December and started at 20mg
prednisone
, which did the job. After 6 weeks I went to 17.5, then to 15, then to 10, waiting about 3 weeks each time and alternating. Now my doctor wants me at 7.5. My question: is this too fast? Have others made this jump successfully?

If you have fibro with RA are you given meds for fibro as well ?
Hello, I've had RA for at least a decade . Earlier this year I was taken off all my medication because I could never go more than 6 weeks without antibiotics due to infections .Turns out I had a severely infected sub mandibular gland packed with calcium stones which made it impossible to have any treatment

rheumatology appointment
So I had a rheumatology appointment on Saturday at my local hospital. He is a lovely man but obviously not that informed about PMR. He insisted that if your CPR and ESR are normal you can’t be having a flair up. I challenged him on that but he insisted he was right. He also said people under 60 very

ALMOST OFF PREDNISOLONE
Just thought I’d share my story with all you lovely people out there. I was diagnosed with GCA in March 2019 and started the long journey of taking Prednisolone starting at 60mg. I have finally reduced down to half a mg daily after a few flares in between. My Rheumatologist said I could have reduced

Reducing prednisolone with Methotrexate- what happens after?
I am on 7 mg pred for PMR and it just about controls my symptoms though I get quite stiff in my hips and neck. I reduced to 5 mg in early 2022 having met my condition first in June 2021. I think I reduced too quickly and have since had several flares. My rheumatologist wants me to start methotrexate

Prednisone blood concentration and exercise
Does exercise have any effect on the
prednisone
concentration in one's body? For example, if I took my morning dose of
prednisone
then later walked at a fast pace for over an hour, would that exercise increase the rate the
prednisone
or its derivative prednisolone is eliminated from my body?

Colonoscopy and Prednisolone
I am booked for a colonoscopy on 21 December at 2:40 pm. I have no other details and await a nurse to ring prior to the procedure. This news has not helped my anxiety, which has, of late increased to a high level for various reasons. I’ve read, and heard from friends, many horror stories about the medication

Uvedose Vitamin D3 100,000 - anyone ever taken it?
But in discussing my PMR and that I am still on Pred (now 1mg and testing slow countdown) , he said that when people get PMR or other autoimmune illnesses and take
Prednisone
, they are also given this ampoule of Vitamin D3 to take by mouth one time each month for 6 months to help with the autoimmune
