Does exercise have any effect on the prednisone concentration in one's body? For example, if I took my morning dose of prednisone then later walked at a fast pace for over an hour, would that exercise increase the rate the prednisone or its derivative prednisolone is eliminated from my body?

Prednisone blood concentration and exercise
It is important to exercise to stop muscle wastage, but with PMR you need to be careful not to overdo it. Walking fast for an hour is pretty impressive, but I cannot see why it should affect the elimination of the steroids.
Not that I know of for oral pred. It might for i.m./sub cut or transdermal versions I suppose. In fact, exercise will increase the blood levels of some things that are excreted via the kidneys by slowing the process.

This paper confirms my thoughts:
All drugs are eliminated from our bodies over time, but i think what is important is to point out that exercise will increase blood flow to the muscles and thus deliver more prednisolone to muscles, which is ultimately the goal of taking pred. If you are taking plain ( non-coated) pred, then highest concentration should be 2-3hours after you have taken pills. If you have any "gaps" during the day and pain comes back, perhaps you should experiment with different time to take meds and/or splitting the dose. It varies from person to person how they metabolize, and how long it takes for meds to be eliminated form the body, so you have to find what works for you.
