Not sure what’s going on, I had blood tests because of headaches and temple pain but I’ve just had a call from rheumatologist now making an urgent appointment for this Friday and wanting me to increase
prednisone
from 10mg back up to 15 until I see him, very strange.

Abiraterone + Prednisone with Preexisting CAD
This means I already had preexisting Coronary Artery Disease when I started Abiraterone +
Prednisone
on November 10, 2023. Apparently, Abiraterone can increase cardiovascular risks. Now, the question is should I continue with Abiraterone +
Prednisone
? If no, what are my options?

Metabolic changes from prednisone
I have been on
prednisone
since July of 2021. Several failed attempts to taper but am presently at 3 mgs after changing diet dramatically. Had blood tests a month ago and cholesterol is one third higher than normal range.

PMR treatment and effects on osteoporosis
I was diagnosed with PMR in Jan 2023 and have just completed the weaning of
prednisone
over the last year. As soon as i stopped taking the final 1mg of
prednisone
in December 2023 - my symptoms started to return.

Has anyone tried pulsed electric magnetic field therapy for PMR relief?
At this rate, I'll be on
prednisone
for a long, long time. So wondering if anyone has tried alternative treatments to try to get off
prednisone
sooner rather than later. I've researched both low-dose naltrexone and the magnetic field devices.

Pain in Left Eye
Hi Kind Friends, I am currently on 12.5 mg
prednisone
(tapering from 60 in Oct.) and weekly Actemra injections (about 4 months) Double vision from high
prednisone
has resolved as I have tapered. Occasionally I feel pain in my left eye, in the outer lower corner.

Full adrenal function at 3 mg?
This leads me to hypothesize that the "energy effect" of the 3 mg
prednisone
plus my natural cortisol is greater than 7 mg
prednisone
. However, I am curious if anyone has ever stumbled upon any information or research regarding the level of adrenal function while on a low dose of
prednisone
?

trying to taper prednisone
Of course the rheumy wants me off
prednisone
. I had a recent cortisol level which was low so I’m off to an endo now. Problem is I did a bit of washing and folding clothes when babysitting my grandsons for the night.

Steroid induced diabetes
I was diagnosed with diabetes shortly after being put on
Prednisone
for PMR. It definitely changed my eating habits but I was able to control it with few carbs and more exercise. I was told that it might clear out as I taper off the steroids.

Hypertension Stage 2, need advice.
I am seriously considering stopping the abiraterone and
prednisone
. It just does not seem worth the risk, especially as I had brothers who died at 51, and 63 of heart issues. My psa has been undetectable for going on 6 years.

gastro resistant pred and reduction
I have been on 1mg of gastro resistant
prednisone
for several months having reduced very slowly as advised. Not sure how to proceed now since I don’t think there are 0.5 mg of the enteric coated tablets available. I have started to omit one day a week with the intention of omitting more frequently.

GCA Ear pressure and stiff neck
There are no visual symptoms, but I’m thinking maybe increase my
prednisone
? I hate to yo-yo around with the dose, it is it worth a try?

For the past two days, I have new PMR pains.
I have never experienced this before while on
Prednisone
---Could it be a flare? Can I try raising my
prednisone
, to determine if that helps? What level would you suggest to try? Thank you again.

painful shoulders after dead slow taper to 2mg.
I’ve finally managed to get to 2.25mg
prednisone
on a slow taper taking a month for 0.25mg drop. I also take Leflonamide which was doubled to 20mg a month ago to deal with probable RA in my hands. (Pain and swelling. It has helped). I’m diabetic due to steroids.
